Thank you to the board and the officers of the Ohio State Association of County Veteran Service Officers (OSACVSO) for your nomination for Forever Amber Acres to be the benefactor of your annual charity event.

You all dug deep into your pockets and humbled us by your generosity! Thanks to you, 52 veterans in the state of Ohio will receive our equine assisted therapy and wellness program services at no charge. A record $5,167 was raised at this event!!

A very special thank you to Matthew Roesel - Director Fulton County and Ed Zackery Director Medina County for your nominations and belief in our charity and to our volunteer coordinator Peggy Whitcomb for the introduction.

It was also our honor and pleasure to meet Major General John C. Harris, Jr. (Ret), Ohio's current adjutant General, who is serving as the new director of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services. We look forward to your visit to our sanctuary in the near future.

Today we welcomed 13 veterans plus guests to Forever Amber Acres Healing Horses - Herd to Heard. We talked through “getting in touch with emotions” (E-motions, energy in motion) and the impact they can have on us. We discussed coping mechanisms we can use when our emotions can feel overwhelming. The horses also exhibited coping skills when energy got high for them. We concluded the day with a cookout and were reminded of community and that we all have reason to “celebrate a life worth living!”
