This week, some of our Tapestry residents set out on a fun mystery ride! Along the way, we explored the history of Medway, Massachusetts, and discovered a fascinating local connection.
Did you know that John "Grizzly" Adams was born in Medway in 1812? Before his adventures out West, his very first job was as a shoemaker!
Many of us remembered the beloved show The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, featuring Grizzly Adams and his loyal bear, Ben such a wonderful piece of television history that brought smiles and sparked great conversation.
We also learned that John “Grizzly” Adams went on to train grizzly bears and other animals in California, making him a truly unique and adventurous figure of his time.
It was a day full of learning, laughter, and great memories—just another special moment shared together! 🌟

Our community came alive with the rhythm and spirit of Ireland as we welcomed a captivating Irish dance performance that had everyone tapping along. With nearly 85 residents in attendance, the room was filled with energy, joy, and shared moments of delight!

Today we celebrated with festive St. Patrick’s Day music, delicious cookies made by our wonderful dining team, and tasty Shamrock ice cream shakes. Everyone enjoyed the sweet treats and great company.
Our talented residents in the Ageless Artists program also created adorable Irish garden gnomes, adding a fun and creative touch to the celebration. It was a joyful day filled with smiles, laughter, and a little Irish luck! 💚🍀

Our Independent Living residents of the Willows & Assisted Living residents of Whitney Place were transported into the beautiful world of ballet during this month’s Signature Event: An Afternoon at the Ballet. 🩰✨

We had the pleasure of welcoming the incredibly talented dancers from the Ballet RI School, who captivated our audience with a stunning showcase of both solo and group performances. Our residents were delighted to see excerpts from beloved classical ballets including Coppélia, La Bayadère, and The Sleeping Beauty.

The grace, artistry and storytelling through dance left our residents truly mesmerized. It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the beauty of the performing arts and creating meaningful moments together in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Ballet RI for sharing their extraordinary talent with us and making the afternoon so special!

We had a wonderful ending to the week and weekend at the Whitney Place Tapestry community!
We enjoyed beautiful music with Steve McGovern, and both residents and families truly appreciated the lovely selections. The music created such a warm atmosphere for everyone.
Our “Inventions That Changed the World” conversation sparked many special memories. Residents shared stories about their first cars, riding bicycles with friends, and other cherished moments from years past.
We also had fun playing table games and spending time together in great conversation. A special thank you to Elaine, our Director of Fitness, who joined us for an energetic drumming class that everyone loved!
It was a wonderful way to come together, and share memories.

Today the Whitney Place Tapestry residents felt that spring was in the air! 🌷 We created these beautiful flower pot canvases using tissue paper to brighten up our art room and welcome the nicer weather ahead. Everyone did a wonderful job, and the artwork will bring such a cheerful touch to our space. We are so proud of their creativity!
