I truly think being a kid these days is much harder than when I was younger. 😔
From every different imaginable angle: social media, school, peers, authority figures, TV, “experts,” the world is constantly inundating them with a borrage of hard and fast instructions on what they’re supposed to be; what they’re supposed to do; what is defined as success. Kids are being spoon fed this garbage from very early on and the infomation overload ramps up in the preteen-teen years….when they are most impressionable, vulnerable, and seeking their own identity. It’s unfortunately a very effective form of brainwashing that is mass producing humans unable to realize their individuality. It’s stripping them of recognizing and utilizing their own gifts and talents. You are no longer allowed to be unique. Following the masses is expected for acceptance and approval.
Parents, please advocate for your babies. Lift them up and encourage them to refuse to fit in the box. Strengthen them to stand up to the unprecedented pressures of society! Help them realize how wonderfully and uniquely they were made. Teach them to be brave and to go against the grain. Encourage them to blaze their own paths.
Train them to be strong enough to stand alone.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
