Today we honor and thank our very own Dr. John APRN, a proud Veteran who continues to serve our community through compassionate, patient-centered healthcare. Your dedication to both our country and our community inspires us every day.

This year, Dr. John APRN received the 2025 Outstanding Knight Nurse Award for Service. Serving others has been a lifelong commitment for Dr. John APRN. It began in the military, where he served as a U.S. Army flight medic. After his service, he went on to become a three-time UCF alumnus, earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and founding Island Direct Primary Care.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. John can be found volunteering weekly at Matthew’s Hope, providing free healthcare to those in need, supporting local athletes on the sidelines of rugby games, participating in charity events, and traveling annually on mission trips to Guatemala to provide medical care to underserved communities. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Matthew’s Hope Ministries and Reach Ministries, and continues to mentor future nurses through the Dr. John W. Rothwell III Endowed Nursing Scholarship for Future Nurse Entrepreneurs at UCF.
