Last post in the self-massage series- trigger point balls! (Or you know, tennis ball, lacrosse ball, whatever your ball of choice)

Just like the massage gun and foam roller, there are what may seem like endless options when it comes to use of these. Here are a few of my favorites for some commonly problematic areas- the calf, the hamstring, and the lat. As you can tell, I think they work best with movement, but staying static over a tender area should help as well.

Here’s what to avoid: rolling over anything bony, and anything that causes shooting pain, numbness, or tingling. If you feel that you’re likely over a nerve, and that is not going to make anything better.
