Your donation helps advance therapeutic & diagnostic industries, improving healthcare for everyone. Interstate Blood Bank Inc. was founded in Memphis in 1949 and became part of Grifols in 2019. We pay our blood donors for their time and donation. The blood we collect is used for life-saving and life-improving diagnostic tests.

Am I eligible to donate blood?

Most donors simply need to meet a few basic requirements:

✔ Be at least 18 years old
✔ Weigh at least 110 lbs
✔ Be in generally good health
✔ Bring a valid photo ID

The entire process usually takes about an hour, and your donation helps others.

Ever wonder how often you can donate whole blood?

Here’s a quick breakdown 👇

🩸 Whole blood donors can donate every 56 days
That’s about every 8 weeks, or up to 6 times per year.

This waiting period is important because it gives your body time to:

• Replenish red blood cells
• Restore iron levels
• Recover fully between donations

Donating regularly helps maintain a safe, healthy blood supply for patients—while keeping donors healthy, too.
