Heart-Healthy Lentil & Vegetable Soup

Ingredients:
- 1 cup dry lentils (rich in fiber and plant protein)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (heart-healthy fat)
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp turmeric or curry powder (anti-inflammatory boost)
- 4 cups low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth
- 2 cups fresh spinach or kale
- A squeeze of lemon juice before serving

Directions:�
1️⃣ Sauté onion, garlic, carrots, and celery in olive oil.�
2️⃣ Add lentils, broth, and spices. Simmer for 25–30 minutes until tender.�

We’ve all heard “eat better, move more,” but here are a few not-so-obvious tips to keep your heart healthy:

🧠 1. Give your mind a break. Chronic stress triggers inflammation, which affects your arteries. Meditation, prayer, or simply unplugging for 10 minutes helps your heart reset.

🥛 2. Stay hydrated even in cooler weather. Dehydration thickens your blood and makes your heart work harder. Keep that water bottle handy year-round.

🦷 3. Don’t skip the dentist. Poor oral health and gum disease are linked to increased risk of heart disease. Floss like your heart depends on it—because it does.

🌙 4. Guard your sleep. Less than 6 hours a night raises your risk for high blood pressure and heart attack. Rest is repair.

🎧 5. Turn up the music. Listening to calming music can lower blood pressure and heart rate. (Yes—your playlist can be
therapy!)
