A new study in has some truly fascinating information about how much walking we really need to do each day, as well as how we need to walk! In order to reduce your risk of dementia, you'll need between 3,800 and 9,800 steps each day. Yes, this range is quite large, but the study also had some very revealing information about the pace that would most be effective. Rather than focusing on steps as a whole, we should really be looking at increasing our pace, even if we do a smaller amount, because the largest reduction in dementia risk was achieved by people who walked at a very brisk pace of 112 steps per minute for 30 minutes a day. To learn even more about this study, head up to our link in bio or story!
