Happy Monday everyone! This is a reminder to check on your friends in this extreme heat and drink plenty of fluids. Extreme Heat Warnings AND Heat Advisory remain in place for parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi with heat index up to 111!
Our friends at BARTLETT POLICE DEPARTMENT are staying hydrated!

This year’s theme of Unity and Community highlights that camaraderie and team work enable Paramedics to quickly overcome challenges and deliver the best possible service and highest levels of care.
Here at Vital, we see this across the board with our paramedics as they provide care in different arenas - special event medicine, non-emergency medical transports, disaster response, and assisting our local community services when needed.

Our hearts are heavy today. We join the Memphis Fire Department as they mourn the loss of one of their drivers, Gary White. Gary lost his life in a tragic motor cycle wreck while he was off duty. We are grateful for Gary's 27 years of service to our community. Our deepest sympathies go out to Gary's loved ones and his MFD family.

Today is a great day to be excited about children's healthcare in our Chattanooga community!

Earlier today, we attended (and swooned) at the unveiling of 2 new custom built neonatal + pediatric intensive care ambulances donated to Erlanger Children's Hospital 🚑👏
These new units are equipped to deliver advanced life-saving support for the smallest and most vulnerable patients, allowing Erlanger to raise the bar for pediatric care. They will be operating within 150 miles of the hospital.

Even better, all the funds were donated from within our community!🏆

Vital Medical Transport is grateful to be part of healthcare communities in both Chattanooga and Memphis that put compassion and innovation first. Attending the ceremony today was a welcome reminder of our shared mission to provide state of the art equipment and care alongside the hospitals we work with every day.

And another wow factor...these ambulances are the first in Tennessee allowing for a parent to ride onboard in a separate cab while their child receives care. 🤩🤯

Debbie Spielman, CEO of Children’s Hospital at Erlanger further explained why these custom built vehicles are so special,
'They are equipped with advanced respiratory support; therapeutic hypothermia for hypoxic brain injury; arterial and intravenous line placement and monitoring; onboard bloodwork, lifesaving medications, and continuous drips; customized infant isolettes for fragile newborns; and real-time monitoring and interventions. Each transport includes a highly trained team of a pediatric registered nurse, a pediatric respiratory therapist, and sometimes a neonatologist or critical care nurse practitioner.'

And now you know why we're so excited that children within 150 miles of Erlanger will have access to critical care in these vehicles. Today sure was a good day!

Our hearts are heavy as we remember Alex Sparks, a valued teammate, dedicated paramedic, and dear friend who left us far too soon. Alex was part of our Vital family, and also served as a paramedic with the Shelby County Fire Department. He showed such compassion for his patients and was clearly purpose built for an amazing career as a Paramedic.

More than a colleague, Alex was part of our Vital family, and we offer our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

It's a pleasure to love on our crews for , it's basically our spirit week. Breakfasts, Steak Dinners, Take Home Meals for Families, Daily Raffle Prizes, and Grand Prizes on Friday...a small way to celebrate the team that makes it happen for our patients every day. They are at the ❤️ of everything we do!
