Compliments boost dopamine, the "feel-good" chemical, making both the giver and receiver feel more connected and happier. Small positive interactions, like compliments, play a big role in strengthening relationships.

Take a moment to share a heartfelt compliment and deepen your connection. Who will you compliment today?💖

Are you meeting the people in your life with empathy and understanding?

One of our deepest needs as humans is to feel understood, and true understanding is not possible without empathy. As psychologist Carl Rogers put it, “When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels dang good!”

Empathy does take practice, and here is an example of what it means to respond with empathy and understanding!

Looking inward, self-reflecting and analyzing ourselves can become exhausting and quite stressful. Depending on your social media algorithm, you may be experiencing even more pressures and reminders of *all* the things about yourself that you don’t yet have figured out. As you’re scrolling and learning more about therapy and mental health, you may feel overloaded with things that are “wrong” and things about yourself that “need” to change.

You can take some breaks and be gentle with yourself. Jot the thought down and come back to it later. It’ll be there for you when you’ve got the time, mental space, and energy.

Doing this alone can feel tough, too. It can be super helpful and relieving to have someone working alongside you. Visit the l!nk in our bio to start a conversation with us about how to set up a consultation with one of our therapists.

Have you ever felt drained after resting? Do you ever feel like you need to rest… after you rest? In this post, we are exploring active rest vs. passive rest!

To determine which kind of rest you might need, ask yourself how you want to feel when you’re done. Assess what your intentions are going into resting. For example, gaming with your partner or friends might be a break from work stressors and that’s exactly what you need! In a different moment where you need to give your brain time to recharge and process events and feelings, maybe meditation would serve you better.

If you’re still struggling with which ways to engage in rest and how to make time for rest, our therapists are here to help guide you. You can schedule a consultation through the link in our bio!

Swapping out “but” for “and” is a tiny shift that can open up nuance and acceptance in our conversations and relationships. When we use “but,” we can unintentionally create a sense of opposition or conflict between two ideas or feelings. But when we opt for “and,” we acknowledge that multiple truths can coexist at once.

By embracing “and,” we move past “either/or” binary thinking. Understanding that two truths exist at once can open up more opportunities for understanding and creative problem solving.

It’s okay to change your mind and sometimes that means changing a yes to a no to honor yourself, your bandwidth, and your boundaries.

Save this post for when you need it, or tell us below what your go-to way of saying no is when plans change.

Body neutrality is about accepting your body as it is, without judgment. It means recognizing your body’s value and functionality without focusing on its appearance. It’s about appreciating what your body can do for you, rather than how it looks.

Viewing your body without judgment allows you to break free from the cycle of negative self-talk and comparison. It helps you cultivate a healthier relationship with yourself, one based on respect and kindness. This mindset shift can reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem, and enhance overall well-being.
