Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection in the body and symptoms include fever, altered mental status, shortness of breath and elevated heart rate. Our Quality team spent the month of September educating clinical teams about the importance of recognizing these symptoms quickly so treatment can be started. Use of standardized screening tools and evidence-based protocols are play a critical role in identifying patients at risk.

Today we celebrated two amazing team members as our newest Service First Champions! Iman in Teleservices was honored for the compassionate care she provided to a despondent caller. During the hour she spent talking and praying with the caller, law enforcement was able to locate him in another state and get him the help he desperately needed. Our second Champion was Tempest from Human Resources who went above and beyond in helping a team member navigate a difficult situation at work. She not only listened to the employee, but also engaged others to help resolve the issues. Both these “behind the scenes” team members are proof that everyone has opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others and we’re thankful to have Iman and Tempest 💙

As an avid runner, David didn’t feel it was necessary to attend classes about living a “healthy lifestyle” but begrudgingly agreed to attend one session with Cardiac Rehab.
