May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month and we’re highlighting our team for the great care they provide! Speech therapists help people with head & neck surgeries (including cancer), neurological diseases affecting swallowing & communication, dysphagia, voice strengthening, cognitive retraining, following prolonged intubation, and perform instrumental swallow evaluations. Small team that does powerful work! 💙

What better way to enjoy a rainy day than to look at highlights from Hospital Week’s 2025 Baptist Idol 🎤🎶 Back by popular demand was emcee Bubba Rock, along with judges Simon, Luke, Randy and Katy. The crowd went wild as six talented team members competed, with Ebony coming in at 1st Place and Rivers as runner-up!

Our Cath Lab team and Stern Cardiovascular Foundation physicians Dr. Paulus, Dr. Gardner and Dr. Swe have achieved another FIRST with the first Evoque tricuspid valve implant. We are the only hospital in the region and second site in TN to implant the Evoque device, the first and only tricuspid heart valve that can be implanted minimally invasive by transcatheter venous delivery. And this is why we’re designated by U.S. News and World Report as the Best Regional Hospital!!!💙🫀❤️‍🩹

Who says learning can’t be fun…definitely not these “ranch hands”! 🤠🐴 Our nurses who work with our adult heart transplant, ECMO and ventricular assist device (VAD) patients participated in their annual skills check-off event to ensure they provide to their patients every day. 🫀❤️‍🩹🏩

Today Dr. Ingelmo and the Electrophysiology (EP) team implanted our hospital’s 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th Watchman device to treat Afib in patients to eliminate the usage of long term blood thinners. And that’s why we’re designated by U.S. News and World Report as the Best Regional Hospital in Metro Memphis and accredited by the for Electrophysiology. 🫀🏥💙
