Whereas independent chiropractic neurology diplomates exist who desire to network in an association with an open forum where collegial interaction and discourse is appreciated and celebrated, and whereas,

Independent chiropractic neurology diplomates also desire a democratic association where all diplomate, fellow and PhD members have a voice and vote in the governance of the group, and whereas,

Chiropractors interested in neurology desire an interactive robust forum to share ideas and gain knowledge, and whereas,

The public benefits when chiropractors pursue advanced skills in the area of neurology, and whereas,

The power of the web can make post graduate training affordable to chiropractors around the world, and whereas,

The creation of a new association that is “by the members, of the members and for the members” is desirable to an independent group of chiropractic neurologists,

Be it therefore resolved that the International College of Chiropractic Neurology be formed, and

Furthermore, be it resolved that the ICCN be organized as a not-for-profit corporation, and

Furthermore, be it resolved that the first board members of the ICCN be the following: Dr. Ron Boesch, Dr. Richard Cole, Dr. David Taylor and Dr. David Schimp, and,

Furthermore, be it resolved that the board of the ICCN be empowered to develop the infrastructure of the ICCN, invite membership and report their progress at a general meeting of the ICCN membership in July 2015.

The ICCN will be sending membership cards out with 2021 Membership dues statements. These cards were fun to design and are relatively inexpensive. I thought it would be a nice gesture to see your names on a card for 2021. Due to excellent fiscal discipline by the board, the finances of the ICCN continue to stabilize and we now have a small but growing reserve account....

Published in Neurology TAKE HOME MESSAGE Specific Muscular Training (SMT) was superior to basic core stability and flexibility training in managing LBP SMT consisted of training activities that limited lumbar spine end range of motion while increasing hip hinge capacity. SMT was designed to improve proper lumbar spine movement when involved in daily activities Patients with chronic LBP may benefit better from exercises designed to teach proper movement patterns instead of focusing on flexibility or abdominal strength alone. ...

TAKE-HOME MESSAGE Migraine has been a difficult condition to fully understand Advanced neuroimaging data and neurophysiological research indicate that fluctuating excitability, plasticity, and metabolism of cortical neurons represent the pathophysiological substrate of the migraine cycle. Migraine disorder stems, in part, from an imbalance in inhibitory/excitatory cortical circuits Spinal Manipulative Therapy (SMT) has been found to have an effect on the pre-frontal cortex and this may explain why some migraine patients improve with SMT. Summary:Low back pain (LBP) is a common musculoskeletal symptom, which can be developed in multiple clinical diseases. It is widely recognized that intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration (IVDD) is one of the leading causes of LBP. However, the pathogenesis of IVD-related LBP is still controversial, and the treatment means are also insufficient to date. In recent decades, the role of structure and function changes of sensory nervous system in the induction and the maintenance of LBP is drawing more and more attention. [ 153 more words ]
