HeartLife Soul Care

HeartLife Soul Care Clinical Excellence. Gospel-Inspired. HeartLife offers a full range of counseling services. I began teaching and supervising the counseling students.

“The Lord gave me the vision years ago to come alongside the church to provide Clinical Excellence in Professional Christian Counseling. Initially, I found myself consulting with churches, pastors and agencies within the Southern Baptist Convention; I was providing training and support for efforts and programs dealing with hurting people. Parts of the vision were realized but it was not until I started teaching at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary that the ‘whole’ of the vision came together. The second year I was at Southern, I was offered the course, ‘Caring for Souls in the Congregation.’ In my preparation for this course, God revealed a model, that is now HeartLife.”

Maci earned her Master of Arts in Counseling in 2021 from The Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. With nearly three years of experience as a therapist, she is deeply passionate about helping others heal attachment wounds, learn healthy boundaries, grow in the capacity for integration, and step into what it means to reparent oneself in adulthood.

She is committed to creating a space where individuals can explore their personal stories in a manageable, supportive way, leading to transformation and a flourishing life marked by connection to self, God, and others.

Maci utilizes a trauma-informed psychodynamic approach to healing and integrates modalities and concepts from Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Existential Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

Let’s all face it: being a teenager is hard. Then imagine throwing Neurodivergence and the internet on top of typical teen difficulties, and they're in a really tough spot. This is an 8 week therapist-led group that will assist with social skills for those teens who struggle to connect with others! In this group, teens will have the chance to practice social skills such as reciprocal conversations, relating to others, conversational tools, handling conflict, building empathy, self-advocacy, establishing connections in real life vs. the internet, etc. Teens in this group will also have the opportunity to practice these skills with other teens similar to them in real life. Individual therapy has its own set of benefits, but through group work, teens can see they aren’t the only ones struggling, practice skills in a safe, judgment free space, gain social confidence and make new connections!

Who: Teen Girls
When: 8 weeks, Thursdays, March 27 - May 22 from 4:30-5:30p (no meeting May 1)
Price: $536/person + one-time $20 supply fee (First half due March 27, second half due April 24)
Led by: Kelsey Harris, LPC-MHSP, CCLS

NEW BLOG POST 🕊️

As we enter 2025, let’s follow the rhythm of the Psalms and take a “selah”—a moment which invites us to rest and listen closely for the Lord’s guidance. In a world that’s always moving, these pauses are a gift, bringing clarity, depth, and direction.

Have you taken time to reflect? If not, consider asking yourself this:
- What is God calling you to leave behind in 2024?
- In what areas do you desire to see growth in 2025?

Trusting God when life doesn’t go as expected can be a challenge. But even in those uncertain moments, His work is evident. From small blessings to unexpected peace, He is faithful, even when His methods don’t align with our desires.

In times of struggle, look for His signs, surrender your expectations, and hold fast to His promises. His ways are higher, His goodness unshakable, and His love for us never fails.

As this year comes to a close, we are grateful for all the Lord’s blessings afforded through HeartLife, our clinicians and clients. We believe everyone should be able to receive help in healing as they face challenges and struggles. But often times, financial resources of those in need are limited.

HeartLife does everything possible to provide counseling for all those who seek our assistance. Whether it is individual or family counseling, camps, or workshops, we do our best to aid in the healing process.

At this time of Year-End Giving, we are asking you to prayerfully consider HeartLife, a not-for-profit organization, as your charity of choice by donating to HeartLife’s Ministry Support Fund or GOS.

By supporting HeartLife with a tax-deductible financial contribution, you are not only providing our organization with the tools necessary to lead individuals to a true healing experience, but you are also making a difference in the lives of our patients.

We appreciate your financial support and prayers, and wish you a blessed Christmas season. To donate, visit: heartlifesoulcare.org/donate. Thank you!

MORE INFO:

This is a therapist-led group that will assist with emotional regulation, impulse control and frustration tolerance. This group is centered around the Zones of Regulation©. The zones are a great way to name emotions without attaching any sort of shame to them. The zones correlate most directly to the level of energy that certain emotions require, but it also shows kiddos that they don’t have to go from happy to out-of-control, or vice versa. Throughout the group, we will learn tools and gain skills to help with those big feelings within each zone.

As an added bonus, parents will receive tips, tools and resources to help reinforce lessons from group. At the end of the group, you will receive all the art work and resources that we review in group.
