✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Cassidy Smith ✨

Rise and flow with Cassidy ✨ Her Monday 5:45AM Power Flow brings a lively, upbeat energy to your morning—expect to move, sweat, and feel energized before the sun is fully up.

Cassidy found yoga in 2021 when a lifelong friend invited her to Hot Yoga Plus—and she hasn’t left since. What started as a simple invite quickly turned into an intentional practice and a love for the flow.

She’s been teaching at HYP since 2022, leading Power Flow classes that are both challenging and uplifting. Her favorite style is Power Flow Vinyasa, and as a former gymnast, she loves incorporating handstands and dancer pose into her practice.

Outside the studio, Cassidy enjoys Pilates, traveling, reading, shopping, and spending time walking her yellow lab, CiCi 🏝️ 🛍️ 📚 🦮 🐾

Fun fact: Cassidy studied biomedical engineering and works in drug development—she brings both focus and curiosity into everything she does.

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Lauren Vestal ✨

Early mornings are worth it with Lauren 🖤

Known for her consistency, balance, and ability to challenge you with love, Lauren’s Friday 5:45AM Power Flow will leave you feeling strong, empowered, and ready for the day ahead.

Lauren played soccer in college, where she discovered yoga through a PE credit—initially signing up because she thought she was “flexible”—and quickly fell in love with the practice. She began teaching in 2018 after completing her first training with Hot Yoga Plus and, as a lifelong student, went on to earn her 500-hour certification in 2020.

She has taught a wide range of classes over the years including Power Flow, Sculpt, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yin, and Aerial, and helped lead our 200-hour trainings for several years. Power Flow will always have her heart, and her favorite poses shift with the seasons—right now she’s loving Triangle and Side Angle.

Outside the studio, Lauren is a coach at Symmetry, helping people manage stress and live healthier, more present lives, and is also a mat and reformer certified Pilates instructor. At home, she’s busy with her two littles—ages 4 and 1—alongside her husband (plus two dogs and a cat 🐕 🐕‍🦺🐱).

She recently completed her Breath Science certification, continuing to deepen her understanding of the nervous system, breath, and overall well-being. She is a Level 3 green belt in Krav Maga (working toward blue belt!) and in her free time
enjoys perusing Architectural Digest 🫁 📚

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Troy Olsen ✨

Rise early and get after it with Troy 💪 His Tuesday 5:45AM Power Flow is a true workout—Troy brings the energy and will challenge you to show up and start your day strong. Expect to work hard, sweat, and have fun while you’re doing it 🔥

Troy found yoga while looking for a way to manage stress, and it quickly became a powerful outlet. In 2025, he completed his 200-hour teacher training and is currently wrapping up his 300-hour training, both through Hot Yoga Plus. Troy been teaching Power Flow classes at Hot Yoga Plus for over a year.

His favorite pose? Handstands (still chasing them 😄). He loves both Power Flow and Ashtanga for the blend of creativity, structure, and challenge they bring to the practice.

Outside the studio, Troy is a tax lawyer for FedEx, a husband, and a dad of four (plus one dog 🐾). He’s a huge music fan with a deep love for rock & roll and American roots—especially Tedeschi Trucks Band (he’s seen them live 45 times!) and Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris (yes, he’s even had dinner with Emmylou).

When he’s not on the mat, you’ll find him cooking—especially barbecue—reading, following University of Utah football, or reminiscing about his days as a college radio DJ.

Fuel of choice? Barbecue (homemade, of course) and a Dr. Pepper Freeze for a treat.

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Katie Carpenter ✨

Midday reset with Katie ✨
Her Wednesday 12:15PM Espresso Flow (45 minute power flow) is the perfect blend of creativity and movement—designed to give you a quick, effective workout and a fresh boost to your day.

Katie found yoga after years of thinking “I’m just not made for that.” During the pandemic, she started exploring YouTube classes at home and decided to give it a try. In 2021, she took her first class at Hot Yoga Plus—a restorative class that became a turning point. A simple hands-on assist brought unexpected, happy tears and a powerful realization: she had been craving connection, community, and permission to take up space again.

Not long after, she tried her first Power Flow. Even though she couldn’t keep up (and thought everyone else was a little crazy 😅), she was hooked.

Katie completed Hot Yoga Plus Teacher Training in October 2025 and now brings a playful, honest approach to her classes. Her favorite poses? The ones that challenge her most—because that’s where growth happens and where she’s reminded that yoga is a practice.

Outside the studio, Katie is a flight attendant (Clark Kent is her alter ego ✈️). She loves being outdoors, planning epic road trips, wearing holiday themed accessories at work, and watching her cats… be cats🐾 ☀️ 🚙 🎄 🐈

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Tanetra Howard ✨

Start your morning strong with Tanetra 🔥

Her Tuesday 7:15AM Hot Sculpt Pilates brings a powerful mix of strength, focus, and flow to kickstart your day.

Tanetra grew up in the Memphis area, building a strong foundation in movement and athleticism as a competitive cheerleader. She found yoga in 2016 after a running injury led her to explore a more balanced, fluid approach—and she’s been deepening her practice ever since.

With a background in multiple trainings including Baptiste, Ashtanga, sculpt, yin, restorative, aerial, and prenatal yoga, Tanetra brings a thoughtful and well-rounded perspective to her classes.

She especially loves teaching Sculpt for its dynamic, full-body intensity. She’s found that sculpt has strengthened her yoga practice, and hopes her students leave feeling stronger, more balanced, and supported in a well-rounded physical practice.

Her teaching emphasizes alignment and listening to your body, while still encouraging you to build strength and confidence. In her class you can expect strength endurance sets balanced with explosive cardio bursts. 🔥

Outside the studio, Tanetra works full-time as an accountant and enjoys gardening, relaxing with a Topo Chico, and a good ice cream moment (Jeni’s Gooey Butter Cake 🍦). Her favorite poses include Half Moon, Pincha Mayurasana (forearm stand), and backbends.

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Kiera Kimminau ✨

Start your week strong with Kiera 💫 With her bright spirit and upbeat energy, Kiera brings a motivating and welcoming vibe to her Monday 5:30PM Power Flow—the perfect way to shake off the day and step into the week feeling strong and centered.

Kiera first discovered yoga in high school while dancing competitively, using it as active recovery between practices. What began as stretching quickly grew into something more meaningful. During college, yoga became a space to disconnect from the stress of school and reconnect with herself through breath and movement—something that still keeps her coming back to the mat nearly 15 years later.

Originally from the metro Detroit area (and a proud lover of cold weather ❄️), Kiera moved to Memphis about five years ago for work. She has been teaching power flow at Hot Yoga Plus for two years, sharing her love of vinyasa yoga. Kiera’s favorite pose is Half Moon—a blend of balance, strength, and a little bit of dance.

Outside the studio, Kiera works as an Engineering Manager for Nike. When she’s not practicing or teaching, Kiera enjoys creating—sewing, crocheting, and photography give her a creative outlet beyond her technical day-to-day. Her drink of choice? Matcha (always), or a Spindrift when she’s mixing it up. 🪡 🍵 📸
