Overview: The Registered Nurse provides medical office nursing duties in an outpatient pain management office.

Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments.
Assist physicians in preparing for examinations and physicals. Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments as needed for patients.
Assisting and scrubbing with elective procedures
Administering IV sedation for procedures under physician supervision
Recovering a patient post-procedure and monitoring vital signs

Qualifications:

A Degree from an accredited Nursing Program is required.
Must possess and maintain a current license in Arkansas as a Registered Nurse/LPN
Maintains current CPR certification.
Applicant must have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated high level of clinical excellence.

Job Expectations:

For this position, we are looking for a registered nurse or LPN who is willing to work 10 hour days Tuesday through Friday at our Blytheville location with an option to also float to our Memphis locations. Mileage reimbursement will be given for travel.

The Medical Assistant provides medical office clinical assistance in an outpatient pain management office.

Job Responsibilities:
Assists MD and NP in busy clinic to ensure optimum patient to provider flow.
Reviews and prepares medical record to ensure completeness prior to patient examination.
Assists with initiation of patient history and physical assessment. Obtain and record patient intake including, but not limited to, vital signs and weight.
Assists NPs and physicians with physical exams and simple surgical/therapeutic procedures
Prepares and administers intramuscular injections as directed by MD or NP.
Perform clerical work including answering phones, communicating with patients and pharmacies, obtaining patient records from outside facilities, and referring patients for imaging or other specialists.

Minimum Education and/or Training:
High school diploma/GED
Completion of a Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution
If not certified, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment
BLS certification

Minimum Experience:
Pain experience preferred
2 years of related work experience preferred

Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic computer function and operations
Knowledge of basic electronic medical record (EMR), Athena preferred
Knowledge of basic medical terminology

Job Expectations:
For this position, we are looking for a medical assistant who is willing to work 10 hour days Tuesday through Friday at our Union City location.

Another great google review! This time from a patient at our Union City office! Thank you to Kim Norwood, Leigh Anne Butler Daniels, and the entire staff in Union City for doing an amazing job treating each and every patient with respect and putting their medical needs first!

"Southern Pain management is worth the drive. My drive to get there is 2 hrs one way and it’s very worth it. I’ve been to many doctors since I blew my back out 3 years ago and none of the other doctors offices compare. The staff is wonderful from the moment you are greeted all the way thru. There is a pain management office at the end of my road so 1 min from the house but instead I drive the two hours. My main nurse is Kimberly Norwood and I cannot say enough nice things about her she listens And If any changes and she sends me for more tests. Mrs. Norwood seems truly concerned about my well being. You do not have to wait hours to be seen appointment times truly matter at this doctors office. I have left other doctors offices after 2 hrs of waiting and not been seen. My appointment was 3 pm today and even though they were short handed I was called back at 3:04 for my appointment. Above all else your treated like you would want to be treated ( as humans). Your not treated as another number by rude people. I will go to this clinic as long as they let me. God bless them at southern Pain Management God bless them all. Sincere Thanks Marty"

Amazing review from one of our Memphis patients. This completely summarizes the type of approach we take with our patients and what allows us to offer only the highest quality of care for our patients! -

"Dr. Hodgkiss is the best pain management doctor there is and I have seen (what feels like) them all. From my first visit, he said he was committed to helping my pain and he actually meant it. While most pain doctors are happy to push pills or shots and collect the monthly fees for “mandatory” office visits and urine tests (check the state laws), Dr. Hodgkiss presented several other options that others had never even mentioned. We are working through some of these now and I am on less medicine and am in far less pain than I have been in the last 15 years. We still have a ways to go and I know I will never be “pain free”, but thanks to everyone there (the entire staff is amazing, helpful, professional and very friendly) I feel better than I ever thought I would. I thank Dr. Hodgkiss sooo very much for being very smart and caring at the same time. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart (and my spine 😁)."

4 more incredible results with the Minuteman device implanted last week by Southern Pain and Dr. Tom Hodgkiss. All 4 with near complete resolution in symptoms, including back and leg pain. Minimal soreness post procedure as well! A truly magical procedure!

In this photo, our patient is experiencing degenerative disc disease due to spinal canal narrowing. Dr. Hodgkiss implanted the Minuteman device, which increases the space in the spinal canal therefore relieving pressure on the adjacent nerves, subsequently reducing our patient's pain.
