The 2015 Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plan annual Open Enrollment Period began yesterday and continues through Sunday, December 7th. During the next seven weeks, you will have the opportunity to add, change, or drop your 2015 Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare Part D prescription drug plan coverage.
If you are satisfied with your current 2014 Medicare Part D plan or Medicare Advantage plan coverage - and you understand how your Medicare plan is changing in 2015 - you do not need to do anything and you will be automatically re-enrolled into your Medicare plan along with any changes your plan may have made for 2015.
Caution: If your current 2014 Medicare plan is being discontinued or not offered in 2015, you may not have 2015 Medicare plan coverage – unless you enroll in a new plan. On the other hand, your 2014 Medicare plan may be merged into a different 2015 Medicare plan without you making the choice.
If you need help call 901-219-7387 and set-up an appointment at a location of your choice.

Q: I started getting survivors benefits as a widow at age 60 but I’ve worked enough to get retirement benefits on my own record. What can I do?

A: You can switch to retirement as early as age 62 if your benefit rate is higher than your rate as a widow. In many cases, a widow or widower can begin receiving one benefit at a reduced rate and then, at full retirement age, switch to the other benefit at an unreduced rate.
