Louisiana lawmakers have introduced HB539, a bill that would remove a restriction that currently prevents bars and restaurants from selling products like THC beverages and gummies.

Right now, if a business has a Class A alcohol permit (bars and restaurants), they are blocked from selling h**p products. HB539 simply repeals that restriction and allows those businesses to participate in the legal h**p market again.

This matters because Louisiana has already tightened h**p sales in recent years, pushing many products out of convenience stores and smaller retailers. The result has been fewer places for adults to legally find THC drinks and gummies.

HB539 doesn’t create a new program. It just removes one of the barriers that was put in place.
