Don’t ignore your stress!! Becasue the body keeps score.

Stress isn’t just something that shows up in big, overwhelming moments, it often lives quietly in our day-to-day lives, shaping how we think, feel, behave, and even how our bodies respond, long before we recognise it.

At its core, stress is the body’s response to pressure or perceived threat, but in modern life, it’s triggered by far more than danger, from constant demands and overthinking to people-pleasing and the pressure to keep everything together.

It can show up in subtle ways like irritability, poor focus, disrupted sleep, overworking, or emotional shutdown, which is why many people don’t realise they’re stressed until they’re already burnt out.

The key isn’t to eliminate stress completely, but to recognise your warning signs early and build small, consistent ways to regulate and reset.

Because unmanaged stress doesn’t just affect how you work, it impacts your health, your relationships, and your overall wellbeing.

We often aren’t taught these tools, but it’s never too late to start understanding yourself and building them in ways that feel realistic and sustainable.

Things like pausing, breathwork, learning to regulate your nervous system, creating boundaries, and checking in with your thoughts and body can make a significant difference over time and not by removing stress completely, but by changing how you respond to it.

Because the more you understand your own patterns and signals, the more equipped you are to support yourself before stress turns into burnout.

Keep shining!
Dr. L
