Here we stand on the eve of the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. The darkest night of the year is before us, the time of summer, light and warmth seems so far away. But once we see this dark night through, the sun rises again. The light slowly returns to grace our landscape once more with warmth, green, and growing things.
