Before you add another supplement to your regimen, I invite you to PAUSE!
Supplements absolutely have a place in naturopathic medicine. When used intentionally, they can be powerful tools.

But they are not foundations.
They are not sleep.
They are not stress regulation.
They are not consistent nourishment.
They are not rhythm.

I’m seeing this more and more — where people treat supplements like pharmaceuticals, stacking them, chasing symptoms, adding more without focusing on the fundamentals of health first.

“Natural” does not automatically mean safe.
Supplements can interact with medications, with each other, and with your physiology.

Before you add, assess:
Are you sleeping consistently?
Are you eating regularly?
Is your nervous system supported?
Is your digestion stable?

Sustainable health isn’t built from a cabinet full of bottles….you need support in building strong foundations of health.

I wrote a full blog breaking this down.
Read it before adding anything new!

My dear friend Charlene and I are hosting something cozy, hands-on, and deeply practical this season ✨
Winter Immunity & Tea Blending is a grounded afternoon for anyone who wants to support their immune system without overwhelm or complicated protocols.
Here’s the truth most people don’t hear:
about 70% of your immune system lives in your gut.
Which means stress management, digestion, and daily rhythm all matter far more than just “boosting” immunity.
In this workshop, we’ll talk through the gut–immune connection in a simple, approachable way, and then anchor it into real-life habits that actually stick.
You’ll learn:
• which herbs are most helpful during cold & flu season
• how to move beyond store-bought tea bags and blend intentionally
• how tea, breath, and rhythm work together to support immune resilience
And you’ll do it, not just hear about it.
You’ll leave with:
🍵 a custom tea blend tailored to you
📖 a mini guide for building your herbal medicine cabinet at home
Tickets are $32 and space is limited to keep it intimate.

Ever wonder what it actually feels like to work with a naturopath who listens, tailors care, and supports you holistically especially during perimenopause?

Here’s what one client shared after her first visit with me:
“From the moment I stepped into Dr. Katie’s office, I felt a deep sense of care and calm…”
(Swipe to read her full story 👆)

What I love about this testimonial is that it shows what real transformation starts with:
✨ Slowing down
✨ Feeling seen
✨ Starting small, but starting strong

In her case, we focused on energy + stress management during perimenopause. Her biggest mindset shift?
👉 Realizing that small changes compound into big results over time.
So many women try to overhaul everything at once. But when we work together, we build momentum, not pressure.

👉 Curious if a tailored, nourishing approach could help you feel better too?
Comment “INFO” and I’ll DM you the details on how we can work together.

There isn’t a single person on this earth who doesn’t have bad days. That’s par for the course, and is part of being human. Something I’m still learning is how I deal with and process challenges that come up, whether it be in my work, in my personal life, or just the state of the world.

When I feel like I’m up against a wall, and stuck, I just need to do something that makes me realize that I actually can move and shimmy myself out of whatever I’ve gotten myself into. Showing myself that I can do something challenging physically helps to open up my problem solving skills in other aspects of my life. One of my favorite aspects about my job is that I get to work with some incredible people on their own health journeys. I have walked the walk of chronic illness, and I know how debilitating it can be. When patients come back to me saying they were able to accomplish something they didn’t believe they would ever be able to, this makes it all worth it for me.

We can do hard things, as Glennon Doyle says. In my life‘s work, it’s my job to clear the path and help you break down barriers so you can do your own hard things.

The holidays can be magical… but also extremely stressful.
Between full calendars, high expectations, and endless giving, it’s easy to forget to slow down and take time for ourselves.
That’s why we created Ritual Reset: a cozy, mindful evening designed to help you reconnect with yourself before the season sweeps you away. 🌿
Join me, Dr. Katie Barbaccia, and Charlene Phillips of Tealightful, Inc, for an hour of guided tea ritual from The Rituals Collection.

✨ Reconnect with your five senses.
✨ Fill your own cup, literally and metaphorically.

Belize changed the way I see medicine and reminded me that sometimes, the simplest acts make the biggest impact.
Health isn’t only about prescriptions or protocols, but is also about taking the time to help patients understand their health and allow for them to feel empowered about making changes.
One big takeaway for me was that education is one of the most powerful forms of medicine. Without education, how could we create lasting change?

Belize Clinic Day 1! We had a very busy day in clinic seeing patients in the rural village of Trio today. We provided medical care with the help of community members to translate both Spanish and Qʼeqchiʼ. It was a beautiful moment and a dream come true to deliver care with both conventional and naturopathic medicine approaches.
