I have POTS. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, which is a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system and causes your heart rate to spike when you stand up.

One of the most evidence-based ways to manage it is increasing sodium and fluid intake. More salt = more blood volume = less symptoms like dizziness and fainting when you move through the world upright.

So when I say saltwater... I mean it literally!

This is also why I talk so much about the autonomic nervous system with my patients. POTS is a very specific example, but nervous system dysregulation shows up on a spectrum, and a lot of women are living somewhere on it without ever having a name or diagnosis for what they’re feeling.

Sometimes the “too simple” answer is actually just the right one. 🌊

The health story you’ve been living in isn’t the full picture.

It’s just the one you were handed when no one had the time to look deeper.

Save this for the next time your brain tries to convince you it’s a you problem. (It’s not.)

Which one hit? drop it below.

My dear friend Charlene and I are hosting something cozy, hands-on, and deeply practical this season ✨
Winter Immunity & Tea Blending is a grounded afternoon for anyone who wants to support their immune system without overwhelm or complicated protocols.
Here’s the truth most people don’t hear:
about 70% of your immune system lives in your gut.
Which means stress management, digestion, and daily rhythm all matter far more than just “boosting” immunity.
In this workshop, we’ll talk through the gut–immune connection in a simple, approachable way, and then anchor it into real-life habits that actually stick.
You’ll learn:
• which herbs are most helpful during cold & flu season
• how to move beyond store-bought tea bags and blend intentionally
• how tea, breath, and rhythm work together to support immune resilience
And you’ll do it, not just hear about it.
You’ll leave with:
🍵 a custom tea blend tailored to you
📖 a mini guide for building your herbal medicine cabinet at home
Tickets are $32 and space is limited to keep it intimate.

Ever wonder what it actually feels like to work with a naturopath who listens, tailors care, and supports you holistically especially during perimenopause?

Here’s what one client shared after her first visit with me:
“From the moment I stepped into Dr. Katie’s office, I felt a deep sense of care and calm…”
(Swipe to read her full story 👆)

What I love about this testimonial is that it shows what real transformation starts with:
✨ Slowing down
✨ Feeling seen
✨ Starting small, but starting strong

In her case, we focused on energy + stress management during perimenopause. Her biggest mindset shift?
👉 Realizing that small changes compound into big results over time.
So many women try to overhaul everything at once. But when we work together, we build momentum, not pressure.

👉 Curious if a tailored, nourishing approach could help you feel better too?
Comment “INFO” and I’ll DM you the details on how we can work together.

There isn’t a single person on this earth who doesn’t have bad days. That’s par for the course, and is part of being human. Something I’m still learning is how I deal with and process challenges that come up, whether it be in my work, in my personal life, or just the state of the world.

When I feel like I’m up against a wall, and stuck, I just need to do something that makes me realize that I actually can move and shimmy myself out of whatever I’ve gotten myself into. Showing myself that I can do something challenging physically helps to open up my problem solving skills in other aspects of my life. One of my favorite aspects about my job is that I get to work with some incredible people on their own health journeys. I have walked the walk of chronic illness, and I know how debilitating it can be. When patients come back to me saying they were able to accomplish something they didn’t believe they would ever be able to, this makes it all worth it for me.

We can do hard things, as Glennon Doyle says. In my life‘s work, it’s my job to clear the path and help you break down barriers so you can do your own hard things.
