👉 A few years, ago Jene Morris gave up his carpentry career to provide full-time support to a child with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Today, he provides that support from his own home. He’s never regretted that decision; in fact, he now supports two children as a Dungarvin Agency Companion provider.

Jene’s dedication and skillful support of the kids recently won him a DSP of the Year Award for the state of Oklahoma from the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR).

Congratulations, Jene, you are an inspiration to us!

We invite you to stop scrolling, relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take a deep breath.

May is recognized as , an initiative near and dear to us. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “mental health is not simply the absence of a mental health condition – it is also about the presence of well-being and the ability to thrive.”

Many of the individuals we support count on their Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help them manage their mental health. Meanwhile, working in this industry can take a toll on our employees’ stress levels and general state of minds. Throughout this month, we hope to share the ways in which our colleagues sustain positive mental health so that they can continue to support others and thrive themselves, but we want to hear from you, too!

Share your answers to these questions with us in the comments. Who knows... maybe your perspective will be of help to someone else!
