Acacia Park Cemetery Association Acacia Park Cemetery is a beautiful Memorial Park cemetery located above the union of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers.

We provide graves for full casket burial as well as various cremation options. We sell burial vaults, flat bronze markers and vases, as well as cremation urns.

One of Dakota County's hidden gems is turning 100 years old in 2025.

Located in historic Mendota, Acacia Park Cemetery was founded in 1925 and is as much a park as it is a cemetery, with sweeping views, mature trees, and a story around every corner.

Some of the exceptional people laid to rest here include:

Gov. Harold LeVander
Charles Holman (yep, the airport namesake!)
Minnesota Viking Karl Kassulke
Gov. Harold Stassen
Robin Ahrens, first female FBI agent killed in the line of duty
Judge Archie Gingold
And even Casey Jones himself—Roger Awsumb of “Lunchtime with Casey” fame.

If you’ve never strolled through Acacia on a summer afternoon, you’re missing out. Pair it with a visit to Oheyawahe (Pilot K**b) next door—another spot where beauty and history meet. Don't forget to check out the chapel; it was built in the 1930s using stone from the old St. Paul Courthouse.
