♋️Explore the powerful practice of Shanka Mudra, a hand shape that helps you open to vulnerability and give yourself permission to feel to heal.
It often seems easier to ignore or completely numb your feelings. But doing that for the not so great feelings means doing it for the really great ones too.
When you numb yourself to sadness, anger, or fear, you also numb yourself to joy, determination, and courage. We learned with Ida Mudra that your emotions, while often intense and sometimes not so pleasant, come to you for a reason - to guide you! And once they guide you, they need to move through you to create ease and well-being.
Shanka Mudra helps you find a sense of safe-enough so you open to the vulnerability of feeling. And it is in the feeling that you find the healing!

This is THE moon for reparenting yourself so you can nurture your inner child in all the ways she needed all along!🌒 ♋️
Embody this with child’s pose or balasana.
🧘🏻♀️Gently move onto hands and knees. You may want to place a folded blanket under your knees for extra comfort.
🧘🏻♀️Inhale deeply. Exhale to send your hips back towards your heels as you drape your body over your legs and bring your head towards the Earth.
🧘🏻♀️You may choose to widen your knees or bring them closer together.
🧘🏻♀️Add support under your head, hips, or torso, if you’d like. Find what makes you feel comforted and nurtured in your physical body.
🧘🏻♀️ Let this help you connect to your own inner child as you breathe deeply for 3-5 minutes.

The solstice reminds us of the importance of relaxation. This class is a beautiful combination of two incredibly healing practices to welcome relaxation at the deepest level.
Begin with Yin Yoga, which allows you to explore longer holds, deeper breaths, intentional mindfulness and self-awareness. It is a gentle yet inspiring practice that invites you to slow down and deepen your experience of yoga and yourself.
You’ll be guided through a series of passive poses that are held for extended periods, typically three to five minutes. These long holds allow you to open energetic channels (meridians) and gently target the deeper connective tissues of your body, like ligaments and fascia, which helps release holding patterns to promote joint health and increased range of motion.
Then experience the profound practice of Yoga Nidra, often referred to as “yogic sleep.” This is a guided meditative practice that induces deep relaxation and explores a state of consciousness that plays between waking and sleeping. Evidence-based research highlights its benefits in reducing stress, enhancing sleep quality, and improving overall well-being.
Simply rest in a comfortable position as you are guided through several stages, including setting an intention (sankalpa), body scan, breath awareness, and visualization. These elements work synergistically to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation, reducing cortisol levels, and rewiring neural pathways from limitation to possiblity. Studies have shown that regular practice of Yoga Nidra can lead to decreased symptoms of anxiety, depression, and insomnia, making it a valuable tool for total being health and happiness.

Katrina, Miss Kat or the car girl yogi is a teacher of many things. Katrina discovered yoga after being diagnosed with celiac disease. She makes use of her biology degree, love of anatomy, and multiple yoga teacher trainings to heal herself holistically by incorporating her knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and nutrition not only into her diet, but also into her yoga practice and her life. She began to incorporate more and more meditation and energy healing into her practice to help manage her anxiety and PTSD. When she began to dive even more into the chakras she really began to heal on an even deeper level.
Her motto is always keep your head up and heart open. Through yoga, meditation, and working with the chakras she gained the strength needed to truly step into her power and would love nothing more than to help others find that place.
Yoga proved to be a way to calm her mind, body, and especially tummy while still allowing her to gain physical and mental strength without disrupting the delicate balance of managing her conditions. She recognized a need for the benefits of yoga in her own preschool classroom. She began including it in her curriculum and now focuses only on teaching science, nutrition, and yoga. The children don't go a day without asking to do yoga. Merging her passion for educating children and her love and knowledge of yoga resulted in the pure magic that is her kids yoga classes. Now parents and teachers all over our area are witnessing the benefits of more zen children who are empowered by having the ability to manage their own feelings and bodies through movement and breath. She could go on and on about why all children need yoga in their lives, just ask her, she'll tell you all about it. But she doesn’t stop there, she wants all the big people to feel the benefits of yoga.
She decided to share her passion with grown ups too and has used her extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to help all ages of individuals use yoga to improve their wellness and live more fulfilled, happy lives despite various health issues. She genuinely cares about each individual and caters classes to your needs. She might occasionally speak to the grown ups in kids yoga language and tell you to be a snake or a dog, but that’s just all part of the fun! Kids and adults alike are guaranteed to leave her classes feeling happy, cared about, like they just had a ton of fun, like they did something really good for their bodies, and like they left a bunch of stress on their mat!
She would love nothing more than to share her passion with you or your children so catch her on her mat at one of her kids or adult classes or contact her to connect privately through yoga, meditation, or energy work!
