It lowers stress, shifts perspective, and builds resilience. Timely humor connects us, calms us, and gives us control when things feel out of control. Laughing at ourselves can even be freeing—it shows confidence and a healthy grip on reality. Laughing helps us drop the ego, embrace the cringe, find the grounding in the flaws of life, and discover a congruence between the inner and outer spaces of ourselves.
