If it's not war, it's yet another Covid strain, natural disasters, or a looming economic collapse. Listening to and reading the news can have a negative impact on our mental health.
News anxiety should be managed for our health and productivity. Here are some things that you can do to relieve some of the pressure.
• Meditate. Meditation is a release, both physical and mental. If you're feeling overwhelmed, take a few minutes to focus on your breathing and only that.
• Move. Move your body in any way that serves you. This can look like walking the dog, decluttering your desk, or having a tickle fight with the kids.
• Nourish yourself. Food and water are important for stabilizing our moods. Have some nuts or hummus if you don't feel like a big meal.
• Leave your phone in another room. It's a habit to scroll and scroll, but grant yourself permission to disconnect for an hour and be present in your life. You deserve mental well-being.
