As we lead into Mother’s Day weekend, we at Evans Brown Mortuary want to pause and acknowledge the many emotions this day can carry.

Mother’s Day is a beautiful celebration for some—but for others, it can be a tender, complicated, and even painful reminder of love, loss, or longing.

We’re holding space for:

• Those who have lost their mother
• Those who have experienced a miscarriage or lost a child
• Those who long to be a mother
• Those who have chosen not to be a mother
• Those navigating adoption, fostering, or difficult relationships
• Those who feel the weight of grief, disconnection, or silent struggles

You are seen. You are held. You are not alone.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

“There is no role in life more essential and more eternal than that of motherhood.” – M. Russell Ballard

As a funeral home, we are deeply honored to walk with families through every chapter of love and loss. This weekend, may we all hold each other a little closer—with grace, gentleness, and compassion.

Honoring Our Profession on National Funeral Director & Mortician Recognition Day

Today, on National Funeral Director & Mortician Recognition Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on the work we do and the impact we have. As funeral professionals, we dedicate ourselves to guiding families through one of the most difficult times in their lives. We provide comfort, dignity, and care when it is needed most.

Our work goes beyond just services and arrangements—we help create meaningful goodbyes, preserve legacies, and offer support when words aren’t enough. It’s not always easy, but it’s an honor to serve families and ensure their loved ones are remembered with the respect they deserve.

To my fellow funeral directors and morticians, I see you. I know the long hours, the late nights, and the emotional strength this profession requires. What we do matters. Today, we recognize and celebrate the dedication, compassion, and professionalism that defines our field.

Thank you for all that you do.

On this Valentine’s Day, we want to remind you that self-love is just as important as the love we share with others. As we care for your loved ones, remember to take time for yourself—whether it’s through a quiet moment of reflection, a deep breath, or simply being kind to yourself. Self-care is essential, and loving yourself through all stages of life is a powerful act of resilience. We’re here to support you with compassion, always.

Career Day at David A. Brown Middle School with Our Funeral Home Evans Brown Mortuaries

Our funeral home had the privilege of participating in Career Day at David A Brown Middle School in Wildomar, California. Amidst discussions about more conventional professions, we stood as a beacon, shedding light on the importance of our industry and the unparalleled quality of care we provide to the families we serve.

Our attendance at Career Day was more than just a showcase of our profession; it was an opportunity to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding the funeral industry. By engaging with students, we aimed to foster understanding and compassion for an essential but often misunderstood aspect of society.

We shared the significance of our role in helping families navigate the complexities of grief and mourning. By offering guidance and support, we provide them the strength to commemorate their loved ones in meaningful and healing ways, ensuring that their legacies are preserved with dignity and respect.

At the heart of our message was the unwavering commitment to excellence that defines our funeral home. We shared stories of how our dedicated team goes above and beyond to meet the unique needs of each family, providing personalized services that honor their cultural, religious, and individual preferences.

By inviting students to glimpse into our world, we hoped to inspire a new generation of compassionate professionals who understand the profound impact of our work. We encouraged them to embrace empathy and kindness in whatever career path they choose, knowing that these qualities are invaluable in any endeavor.
