ARGH! - Ok, so I'm doing some deeper ABLE account research for my next YouTube video at Disability Almanac. In 10 years, there are now 151,000 accounts in the US out of 8 million eligible people!!!!!

1.88 % in 10 years....

ABLE Accounts are a great savings tool for disabled people that also protect your eligibility for disability services.

Let's talk about the 41.2% Disability Employment Gap*
.. and the $7640 Disabled Individual Earnings Gap.

Much better is possible
.. and that the employment rate gap between the best-performing states (North Dakota and South Dakota) for disability employment and the worst states (West Virginia and Puerto Rico) is 40%.
.. and the income-earnings range is $19,000 between the top disability income states (DC and Maryland) and (Arkansas and Puerto Rico).

* These are average numbers over the past 6 years (excluding 2020 for COVID). The trend in the data is positive (just over 37% this year)...but the state-by-state data is too sparse to use a single number.
