🌄✨ Our unforgettable journey began on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at the Whitney Portal parking lot. The excitement was palpable as our group set off on a 4-mile hike to our campsite, ready to rest for the adventure ahead.
On Saturday, September 28th, we rose before dawn to tackle the summit. We took it slow and steady, enjoying a brief pause at Trail Camp Pond, where the majesty of the mountain filled us with awe.
The toughest challenge was Switchback 99, a stretch that felt endless. But the mountain's call kept us motivated! With the energy of the whole group, we pushed through, and when we finally saw the sign saying just 1.9 miles to the summit, it felt like a small victory. Altitude sickness slowed us down, but our spirits remained high as we dreamed of that epic summit photo.
At last, we reached the top! The views were breathtaking and made every step worth it. After soaking in the moment, we headed back to our campsite for some well-deserved rest. We wrapped up our adventure on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, grateful for the incredible journey we shared together.
