From Tube Feeds to Kindergarten Triumph 🎉
After a long and challenging journey of being tube fed, this amazing girl is now eating orally — and thriving! 💪✨

This year has been a tale of many goals and victories- from setting a 4 ounce a day drinking goal in March to a beginning her official weaning process this summer to get to 100% oral feeding goal before starting kindergarten and SHE DID IT!

First day of kindergarten, no tube feeds, and a 10oz weight gain in one week! This milestone is the result of her determination, her family’s unwavering love, and the teamwork behind her care. 💛

Here’s to new beginnings, more victories, and celebrating every bite. 🥄❤️

At The Airplane Spoon, we offer small, expert-led classes designed to nurture confidence, curiosity, and connection in your child’s early years.

🍽️ For Babies (starting solids):
Infant Feeding Class – Wednesdays @ 9:30am
Supportive, evidence-based guidance for one of baby’s biggest milestones.

🧸 For Toddlers:
My First Play Class – Wednesdays @ 10:45am
A playful space for movement, interaction, and early development.

👩‍🍳 For Preschoolers:
My First Cooking Class – Tuesdays @ 3:45pm
Hands-on fun that builds independence, motor skills, and joy in learning.

✨ Each class is kept small (3–6 children) and led by doctoral and master-level child development professionals, so you know your child is in good hands.

Spots are filling for the fall season (monthly & 8–10 week sessions).

Happy CCC day to Alyssa! Our speech therapist Alyssa has now completed her clinical fellowship and is ready to be a fully independent clinician! We are so proud!

Introducing our Inclusive Classes for Play and Cooking!
These are for ALL children - a fun and safe time to learn, explore, and have fun!

Our My First Play Class will be on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:15am for children ages 18-36 months at our Airplane Spoon house with our speech therapist, Alyssa!

Our My First Cooking Classes will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:45- 4:45 for children ages 4-6 years old at our Airplane Spoon house and back patio with picnic tables, with our occupational therapist, Nicole!

These are fun classes for all children. We can't wait! Hope to see you there!

At The Airplane Spoon, we believe that investing in our staff as humans is essential. We care about our staff and their interests and lives outside of work, too. We love to have extended family staff meals together! We had parents, in-laws, partners, and babies - so special with great food and even better company!

April Human Development at The Airplane Spoon!
This month’s theme is the Magic of Play.
We started our day with squeeze bottle pancakes, so much fun! Then, we had a Magic challenge and all magic tricks! After that, we went outside to do our Book Club talk on the book . We learned about integration of right brain and left brain as well as the upstairs and downstairs brain for safety, survival, and executive functions. We discussed the concept of and different play techniques to promote healthy and trusting relationships. We all cooked together for our Oopsie Lunch to celebrate our challenges. And we ended with playing games! Spot It, Turing Code, and a drawing game. What a great day with some truly incredible humans!

Head, shoulders, tummy and feet?
We had a blast with this one! Changing up the words of familiar songs is an amazing way for everyone to get involved, to all be challenged saying the new words, and to be silly along the way! This is also great for promoting literacy by trying to focus on the same color word and not the crossed out words! So much fun!

PS. In case you’re wondering, “tiki” means butt!
