Your Safe, Inclusive Space for Healing
At Food Ease, we understand that health and our relationships with food are deeply influenced by our diverse backgrounds and experiences. We aim to have a team of providers who share backgrounds with our clients, while also recognizing the varied identities and lived experiences we may not personally share. We acknowledge that bodies are political, and we don’t shy away from addressing this reality. In our nurturing environment, you’ll meet compassionate clinicians dedicated to guiding you through the journey of rebuilding your relationship with food, all while fostering self-acceptance. Our dietitians are Eating Disorders-informed, which allows us to approach food counseling neutrally, reduce shame around eating, and navigate your health without judgment or focusing on weight loss.

🔔Reminder

NEDAW is officially over, but let’s remember that our efforts to raise awareness and support those affected must continue beyond those seven days.

While NEDAW serves as a powerful reminder to prioritize mental health and combat stigma, our commitment to understanding, empathy, and education should persist year-round.

Let’s keep the conversations alive by continuing to offer compassion, evidence-based resources, and a listening ear to those who may be struggling in silence. Together, we can break down barriers, foster healing, and create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. 💜

Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions — not choices, phases, or attention-seeking behaviors. A confrontational or shaming approach can push someone further into secrecy.

If you’re concerned about someone:
🤍 Lead with care, not assumptions
🤍 Focus on how they’re feeling
🤍 Avoid commenting on weight or appearance
🤍 Encourage professional support rather than trying to “fix” it yourself

And if you see yourself in these signs, you deserve support too. Recovery is possible and you don’t have to wait until it’s “bad enough.”

Save this post. Share gently. Approach with compassion.

If you needed advice about your teeth… you’d go to a dentist. 🦷
If your car was making a weird noise… you’d go to a mechanic. 🚗

So if you want nutrition advice why are you taking it from influencers, coworkers, or Google?

Nutrition is healthcare. And dietitians are the trained professionals who specialize in it. We complete accredited education, supervised practice, licensing exams, and ongoing continuing education so you’re getting evidence-based, personalized care not trends, fear, or food rules.

Your body deserves more than TikTok tips and one-size-fits-all plans. It deserves qualified support. 💛

In honor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, let’s talk about how to be a supportive ally for someone living with an eating disorder.

Eating disorders affect people of all sizes, genders, ages, and backgrounds. Stigma keeps people silent — support helps them heal.

If you or someone you love is struggling, resources are available through organizations like

Every BODY belongs. Every story matters. 💜

This National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, I’m proud to partner with to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and connect people to life-changing information and support.

There are still gaps and barriers to treatment. Primary care providers are often the first point of contact, and self-advocacy matters. Speaking up, asking questions, and requesting referrals can make a real difference for yourself or someone you love.

By sharing resources, raising our voices, and leading with compassion, we can bring these experiences into the light. Healing is possible.

Hunger 🆚 Appetite

Diet culture loves to ask the question: “Are you really hungry or are you just bored?” But we are here to tell you, you do not need to justify your eating. You are allowed to eat even though you just had lunch an hour ago. You are allowed to have an ice-cream on a hot sunny day because that sounds good to you at the moment.

Appetite comes on quickly and is often influenced by verbal or visual food suggestions. Hunger involves biological changes in the body which signal to the brain that you need to eat to maintain energy levels.

So why is this important? It is important to remember that we eat for MANY different reasons. Eating is emotional and social as it brings people together. Diet culture tries to take the enjoyment and satisfaction away from eating. With Intuitive Eating, ALL foods fit and satisfaction is key!

Are you ready to start your Intuitive Eating Journey!? The dietitians at Food Ease Co. can help!

🚩 Red flag: when a dietitian tells you to cut out entire food group without good reason

Unless there’s a true medical reason (allergies, intolerances, or specific medical conditions), removing whole food groups can make nutrition more stressful, less flexible, and often less nourishing overall.

At Food Ease Co, we take a different approach 💛
We focus on nutrition by addition asking:
✨ What can we add to support your energy?
✨ What can we add to support your health?
✨ What can we add to make meals more satisfying and sustainable?

If you’ve ever felt pressured to follow overly restrictive food rules, you’re not alone. You deserve nutrition care that supports you, not scares you.

Let’s talk about the 1200 calorie myth 👇

1200 calories is often marketed as a “weight loss goal” for adults but in reality, that amount is closer to the energy needs of a toddler than a fully grown human.

When adults consistently underfuel, it can impact energy levels, mood, concentration, metabolism, hormone health, and overall wellbeing. Your body isn’t designed to thrive on the bare minimum…

At Food Ease Co, we don’t focus on numbers because health and nourishment are about so much more than calories in and out.

We focus on:
✨ Learning hunger and fullness cues
✨ Supporting your relationship with food
✨ Helping you feel nourished, not restricted
