On November 14, 2025, Annette (Marbes) Francour walked through the heavenly gates to join those who passed before her. She was born on December 25, 1934, to the late Richard and Cecil (Marineau) Marbes. After graduating from Marinette High School in 1953 she worked at Scott Paper Mill until she married Eugene Francour. Gene and Annette were married August 25, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marinette. She was a stay-at-home mother and then babysat for her grandchildren and neighbors’ children for many years.

Throughout the years Annette loved going camping and traveling with Gene and her family and often spoke about her winter trips to Florida and out west after Gene retired. She enjoyed keeping a journal of all her vacations and reminiscing by reading them now and then or pulling them out for others to read whenever they mentioned going to the same places. She knitted, crocheted and sewed her entire life until she was no longer able. She made Barbie doll clothes as well as ponchos, hats, scarfs, and mittens for her family in the early 70’s and many afghans for family and well as donating them to charities throughout her life. Annette also crocheted prayer shawls for Unity Hospice and sewed for cancer/chemo hats, pillows, and a variety of other items needed for cancer patients that were donated locally and at facilities in Green Bay. Annette was in seventh heaven collecting gnomes, picking rocks off the beaches, and putting puzzles together. She was most famous for her laugh with an occasional snort and her “old fashioned” sayings like, “what the hump” or “Oh for corn’s sake” but mostly for her love of biscuits and gravy and never meeting a potato she didn’t like. She loved everything and anything related to a potato, especially a twice baked potato with Boursin cheese. She loved Friday fish fries and going up north to the Francour family homestead for family cookouts in the summer months.

Annette is survived by her 7 children: Gina Lipp from Oconto, WI, Dotty, Paul, and Trina (Pete) Baxter from Menominee, MI, as well as Jill (Jay) Beyer, Peshtigo, Bart (Lisa) Suamico, and Adam (Rocki) from Menominee. She had 12 surviving grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings David/Linda Marbes of Marinette, Donald/Donna Marbes of Menominee and Ken/June Marbes of Florida, sister in laws: Dorothy Francour-Schwindt of Brookfield, WI, and Millie Francour-Walters of Neenah, WI, and literally hundreds of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene (2019), a grandson Joe Beyer, her parents, siblings Lois/Roger Kniskern, Kathy/Lynn Ruggles/John Lord, Tom/Mary Marbes, her in-laws Adam and Agnes Francour and 13 of Gene’s siblings.

Visitation for Annette will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church beginning at 9:00am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am with Father Jins Joseph presiding and Father Jamie Ziminski doing the homily. A luncheon will follow Mass of Christian Burial in the fellowship hall. Annette will be buried in Birch Creek Cemetery alongside her husband in the spring.

Annette would like to thank her daughter Dotty for taking care of her since 2019, taking her on monthly mini vacations around Michigan and Wisconsin and making her potatoes most nights. She would like to thank her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who visited her often and special nieces and nephews who always invited her over for pizza or Friday fish fries and many laughs. Those were time she thoroughly looked forward to and enjoyed very much! Rest in peace mom, you will be missed.

MARLYN F. (WHEATON) ENTRINGER

She opened our eyes to the joys in life - love, fun, art, music, books and color.

Our mother loved color.

We hope there is vibrant color where she is now, as well as the people she loved who left on that journey before her.

Our mom, Marlyn Florence Wheaton Entringer, was born on March 29, 1935, in Marinette, WI, the only daughter of Florence and Viggo Wheaton. She became the princess in a house of boys - and lived 90 years to achieve queen status in our family. When she died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at the Luther Home in Marinette, she was the last of her birth family, to leave us, as well as the last of her generation in our Dad’s family.

She graduated from Menominee High School in 1953, the same year she married her high-school sweetheart, Frederick John “Fritz” Entringer. They were married on Sept. 19, 1953, at Central Lutheran Church and built their own home on Evergreen Road in Menominee, where they raised their family of six children.

Mum had a number of office jobs over the years - working at Michigan Bell, The House of Color TV, their business - Evergreen Supply Co., Northwestern Mutual Life, Marinette Marine Corp., and Bay Area Medical Center. She retired from BAMC in 1998, where she had worked in Medical Records.

Years earlier, she and Dad bought a motor home they planned to use to visit the places they had never been. They both were dreamers, and their dream was to spend their vacations and retirement on the road together.

Those dreams ended with Dad’s unexpected death on Christmas Day in 1989. Her life and Christmas would never be the same. She eventually moved to Bridgeview Apartments in Menominee, where she resided for several decades before entering the Luther Home in January 2025.

Her impact on her children molded their lives. She was a talented seamstress, an experienced and adventurous cook, a voracious reader who read almost a book a day, a self-confessed clothes horse, and someone who supported her children’s dreams, surrounding us with art supplies, lessons and materials that sparked our talents and our creativity.

She was extremely proud of serving as President of the Parent-Teacher Association in the Menominee School District in the 1960s. She was a member of the Danish Sisterhood of America.

Mum opened the doors for all of us to be strong, independent, outspoken and individual, something we all strive to pass on to our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her legacy includes all of her children - Tina (Jeff) Thanos; Penny (Jeff) Mullins; Joy (Mark) Reinhard; Candy (Mike) Headman; Stephan Entringer; and Gaye (Jim) Plansky; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jan Wheaton; nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Mary Jane Aagaard.

Those who went before her include her parents, Florence and Viggo Wheaton; brothers Tommy, Peter, Gary, Robert and Roger; her in-laws, Lydia and Peter Entringer; brothers and sisters-in-law; and our dad. We know they were waiting for her.

Our family is deeply appreciative of the care given to our mom at the Luther Home, whose staff provided warm support and professional nursing services. Mum always told people she felt safe and happy in your care. Our thanks also go to the caregivers from Moments Hospice - Katie, Amy and Kim - who helped ease her transition with dignity and without pain.

Following our Mom’s wishes, there will be no services and we will celebrate her life as a family.

We thank Cadieu Funeral Home for their assistance.
