Tuesday was such a special day at Hoof Beat Therapeutic Healing Center. Our students in the special education program at Menomonie High School visited for hands-on learning and equine therapy, and the smiles said it all.

This is a new program for the 2025–2026 school year, giving these students the chance to come out twice a month to learn, grow, and build confidence through our retired Standardbred racehorses. These amazing horses now have a second career after racing, helping people heal, learn, and connect.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of Foster’s Outriders. They continue to honor the legacy of Foster Friess, and we are deeply grateful to Lynn Friess for carrying that generosity forward. Their support made it possible for these students to participate, and it truly means the world to us.

Thank you, Foster’s Outriders and Lynn, for believing in these kids, these horses, and the healing work we’re doing. ❤️🐴

✨ Look how far Della has come on her journey with our therapy horses! 💕🐴

We are so proud of Della and how far she’s come at Hoof Beat Therapeutic Healing Center!
When she first arrived, she didn’t want to touch or even get close to the horses.

Now, after just six sessions, she smiles, laughs, and even talks a little during her time here.
Della has learned to brush and groom Sporty Spook, walk him with confidence, and enjoys rides in the two-seated jog cart with Caress of Steel.

Watching her grow, connect, and find joy with our Standardbreds has been truly heartwarming. 💕🐴
