My Hero, My Dad

Growing up, Dan didn’t have to look far to find his hero—he just looked up to his dad, Harrison.

Harrison was a hard-working mechanic, the kind of man who could fix just about anything with grit, grease, and a quiet determination. He taught Dan not just how to turn a wrench, but how to live with integrity, patience, and pride in a job well done.

Some of their favorite moments together working on a 1951 Nash side by side. It was more than just a car. Every bolt tightened and part replaced came with a story, a lesson, or a laugh. That project didn’t just build a car; it built a bond that would last a lifetime.

To Dan, Harrison wasn’t just his father. He was a mentor, a teacher, a best friend—his hero.

Everyone meet Karen! Karen has been with us for 5 months now, and is a social butterfly and loves to tell stories!📖 Karen grew up in Flint Michigan and on her free time enjoyed spending time with her family and friends!🏡
Karen also enjoyed caring for her cats and dogs as she is a big animal lover!🐈🐕 In her free time she enjoys reading, writing short stories, going on nature walks and talking to anyone that will listen to her!🗣️ Please say hi to Karen when you stop in!

Today, I’m reflecting on the incredible legacy of RBG — a woman who broke barriers, reshaped history, and did it all with fierce grace. Her unwavering commitment to justice has lit a fire in so many hearts, including Marilyn’s.

Marilyn, inspired by Ruth’s courage and intellect, is stepping into her own power — speaking up, standing tall, and refusing to back down when it matters most. 💥 Whether it’s in the courtroom, classroom, or community, Ruth’s spirit lives on through women like Marilyn who continue the work.

Here’s to the ones who came before us and the ones they continue to inspire. 💙

Life Tales & Laughter 💬🃏

Today was another beautiful day spent playing one of our favorite card games — Life Tales! It’s always amazing to hear the stories, dreams, and wisdom from our wonderful residents.

💸 When asked what she’d do with a million dollars, Karen said she’d “spend it like a maniac!”
🌍 June shared that if she could go anywhere in the world, she’d head straight to Alaska — what an adventure that would be!
💼 And Eloise gave us all a little life advice: when choosing a career, “pick something you like to do.” Wise words we can all live by.

These moments make our days brighter and our hearts fuller. ❤️

🍂 After a stretch of hot weather, the cooler temps gave us the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy a special visit to a local farm! 🐓🐐🐖

Our residents had a wonderful time soaking up the fresh air, saying hello to the animals, and sharing smiles all around. These moments mean so much—and we’re grateful for the chance to make memories together in such a beautiful setting. 🌾❤️
