This is so important.

Obedience has long been the goal of parenting, but I challenge this belief. Obedience can bring more harm than good. Our goal as a parent is to help our children grow and develop their own values, beliefs and convictions. We want them to grow to be independent adults who will make right decisions and not blindly follow. We therefore can’t enforce obedience, we have to develop cooperation.

It's important to accept an autistic child's experiences and not negate them. Denying their experience gaslights them and makes them doubt their own senses.

Response to COVID-19:

Dear Aspire ABA Families and Staff,

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued a recommendation that Americans begin preparing for the likely spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). While, at this time, Wisconsin has only a limited reported number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), Aspire ABA is taking action to plan for a potential pandemic that could impact our clients, staff, and community.

Aspire ABA has your health and best interest in mind; therefore, we are laying out the following guidelines:

Aspire ABA will follow Dunn County's guidelines for operating business during this time period.
If you feel you have been possibly exposed to COVID-19, please self quarantine and seek medical attention.
Until further notice, we will conduct business as usual; however, any cancelled sessions will not count against families or staff. Your health comes first, and if you do not feel safe venturing out or having staff in your home, please let us know.
We will be contacting your insurance company to explore any possibilities of conducting some telehealth sessions, in the case we need to postpone face-to-face contact; however, can not guarantee telehealth options.
We will continue to keep you updated as conditions change.

All the best,

~Tanya Stoeklen
