Finding creative ways to connect and reflect can feel daunting. This article gives 7 simple questions that create opportunities for parents to connect with their kids, gain insights into their lives, and foster emotional intelligence. Good news, these suggestions aren't just for parent/child relationships, they are valuable questions to try within any significant meaningful relationship.

When looking for ways to integrate, try Habit Pairing. This means just what you think. Take a habit you already do and weave in this new action. For instance, if you always have family meals together or you always pick up the kids from school, then use that time to ask these questions

When in doubt, K.I.S. - keep it simple. Ask one question a day. Maybe every Monday at supper, the question of the day is question #2 from the article. Our brains love predictability.

This question "usually leads to a one-word answer," says Amy Morin, author of "13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don't Do." Here's what to ask instead.

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Here, at Beacon, we joined in on the costume fun and transformed the team into Care Bears!

The Care Bears were assigned, based upon the providers Meyers Briggs Inventory. As one might imagine, there were a few duplicated, so some tweaking was needed.

For the curious minds:
Jim ENTJ - Grumpy Bear

Adam ENTJ - Good Luck Bear, subbing in for Grumpy Bear

Rebecca ENFJ - Funshine Bear, subbing in for Tenderheart Bear

Shauna ENFJ - Tenderheart Bear

Lizzy ISFJ - Harmony Bear, subbing in for Grams Bear

Shae XNFJ - Cheer Bear, the X means equally introverted and extroverted

Sophie ESFJ - Share Bear

Thanks to Phillips Medisize for inviting us to join their Health and Resource Fair last week. Rebecca, Jim & Lizzy were able to represent. We enjoyed meeting many of the wonderful staff and learning more about health and safety resources in our community!

It was a jam-packed few days, so we didn't get many pictures. Hopefully, these suffice.

The topic of su***de is one that touches us all. Although complex, and not going to be solved today, we can take a step to acknowledge it, those who struggle and those who have been directly impacted.

We can show people touched by su***de that we see them and value them.

We can let others know we are safe people to reach out to when struggling.

We can help people find medication management, therapy options, provide rides to appointments etc...

We can sit with them, as they are. We can help shoulder their burden on the dark days and together celebrate the light days.

We can give them 8 minutes. https://simonsinek.com/stories/the-incredible-power-of-an-eight-minute-catch-up-with-a-friend/
