That's a wrap on National Skilled Nursing Care Week 2026! 🥳Residents and staff had fun with dress up days, outings, tie dying, family and friends chili feed, live music, and a bunco tournament! Thank you to all those that participated and to the staff and volunteers that helped to make the fun possible. We couldn't have had such a great time without your efforts! 😁

If you haven't taken a tour of the historic Mabel Tainter, we highly recommend! Residents and volunteers were able to reminisce about their experiences with the Mabel throughout the years - the library, the theater, the youth hangout spot, church, and more 😱 Thank you to the staff for welcoming us & to Rob, our guide, for great tours!👏

As the weather gets nicer and nicer, we are looking for volunteers to adopt the gardens in front of our households! 🌞 There isn't a set time for this program, so volunteers can come whenever they have extra time. Our residents love looking out the dining room windows and enjoying the plants and flowers, so we would love to keep them looking nice for them throughout the year 🌻 Households that have yet to be adopted include:

Happy Monday! 😀 We are reaching out as we still need some volunteers for our East & West building trips to the Mabel Tainter this month. Our Life Enhancement Team is also looking for some volunteers in May. Check out the opportunities below!

🏰 April 14th - East Outing to Mabel Tainter: Volunteers will meet us at the Mabel Tainter at 1:40 pm to help residents into the building, accompany them on the tour, and help get them back out to the bus to return home.
🏰 April 21st - West Outing to Mabel Tainter: Volunteers will meet us at the Mabel Tainter at 1:40 pm to help residents into the building, accompany them on the tour, and help get them back out to the bus to return home.

🛍️May 5th - Central Outing to Dollar Tree - Volunteers will meet us at Dollar Tree at 2:00 pm to help residents shop. We will stay for approx. 45 minutes before returning to the bus to head home.
🪻 May 8th - West Outing to Season's Harvest - Volunteers will meet us at Season's Harvest at 2:00 pm to help residents pick out a plant. We will stay for approx. 45 minutes before returning to the bus to head home.
🎤 May 12th - All Campus Show - Volunteers will meet us at The Neighbors at 1:30 pm to help residents get to the Central Bistro for a Jimmy Buffet show by entertainer Todd Anderson. After the show (approx. 3:00 pm), volunteers will help residents return to their households.
🌻 May 14th - Central Outing to Season's Harvest - Volunteers will meet us at Season's Harvest at 2:00 pm to help residents pick out a plant. We will stay for approx. 45 minutes before returning to the bus to head home.

Residents across campus baked up a storm on Saturday with the Menomonie High School DECA crew 🍪 Students led the baking programs making different items like rice krispies, s'mores bars, brownies, puppy chow, and more! Taste testing desserts before lunch is always a good idea isn't it? 😋🧁
