I am Carol Lake, a Certified Health Coach through the World Renowned Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City, am a natural intuitive, a 7th Generation Shamanic Reiki Master and an Ageless Grace Educator. I am 55 years old, a mother of two grown children and love being a Nana. Life is amazing and I am here to help you create the balance and support that you need to be the best you. My journey with medical professionals is what brought me to where I am today. After countless visits to doctors, and misdiagnosed symptoms, my health issues were classified as "idiopathic." I even had one doctor tell me it was all in my head. I knew that something was going on with my body, that no medical doctor, x-ray or lab result could find. Let’s Get Real!! Watch out for hidden sugar!

Sugar is highly addictive and we wonder why being diabetic is prevlant in the US. Did you know that 45% of those age 45 to 64 years old are pre-diabetic and 50% for those 65 and older. Furthermore becoming diabetic increases with age. In 2023 the CDC states that over 40 million people were diagnosed/undiagnosed. What is scary is that many people that are undiagnosed can cause serious harm to their bodies.

So let me break this down for you with sugar hidden in your food.
1 TBSP = 12 grams

Spagetti Sauce
Prego - 10 grams of sugar per serving. Eeeck! Thats a lot of sugar, the bad kind!
Ragu - 8 grams of sugar per serving.
Rao’s - 3 grams of sugar per serving.

Yogurt
Strawberry flavored Yoplait has 19 grams of sugar per 6 oz container!
Light Strawberry Yoplait - 7 grams of sugar Too Good yogurt - 3 gram of sugar.

Also do not group fruits into this category!! Fruits are not the enemy. White, brown and all those substitutes sugars are the enemy.

Did you know that the American Heart Association recommends women eat no more than 25 grams of sugar per day and men no more than 36 grams of sugar. We all know that most store purchased items have way more sugar, salt, additives, and preservatives that are not healthy for our bodies!

Remember five or less ingredients is best and go for the single ingredient!

Let’s Get Real!!

Food recalls, intense solar flares and crazy weather patterns.

We are all in an amazing shift with God, within our hearts and what our planet is processing. My best advice is to go with the flow. Embrace the weather, send love and gratitude to our earth, the planets and how they support us. I also need to remind you that we can’t control external events but we have 100% control over our internal response and choices.

As to the food recalls, please be proactive. We cannot live in a bubble but as the saying goes… “when in doubt, throw it out! Also please wash, wash, wash everything before making/baking/cooking!!

Our Wednesday night program was a success (ok, another small issue with "sound" but I got that one figured out!!) and it was all about brain health!! As quoted by Dr. Daniel Amen (I just love his name!) "The health of your brain is much more about your actions, than your age."

For our actions, let us start fueling our brains right now with healthy foods!! Below, I am going to mention the top 10 foods that help with keeping that ORGAN (YES organ and the brain does contain some muscle!) healthy and that is by feeding it with good, wholesome, organic, Non-GMO foods.

The top 10 foods are...
1. Beets
2. Salmon
3. Broccoli
4. Walnuts
5. Wild Blueberries
6. Fresh Rosemary
7. Pumpkin Seeds
8. Oranges
9. Green Tea
10. Dark Chocolate YAY, my favorite!!

Also when wanting to help with cognitive health, the mushroom Lion's Mane is a super food!! I cannot speak more highly of this "fungus" when wanting to keep our brains strong and healthy and protect us from demential and alzheimer's disease.

The new food pyramid (compliments of the “Morning Brew and RFK Jr.) and I have to say that I like it! It already matches the way I eat!! As we age, our plates should be full of lots of colorful veggies & fruit, lean protein and limited carbs. Let’s not forget water and staying hydrated too.

Let’s limit the amount of processed food, alcohol and sugary drinks. I can guarantee you that in 30 days, you will look and feel different!

New Year’s Eve Prayer 🙏

Jesus,

As the year comes to a close, I come to you with a heart shaped by past years of experience, growth, and perseverance. You know the chapters I’ve lived, the burdens I’ve carried, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. You have seen my love for YOU deepen, my strength mature, and my confidence rise. Not in what I’ve done, but in who YOU are and what you have done for me even when my faith was weak.

As midnight approaches, I welcome in a new year. I release what no longer serves me or belongs in this next, new chapter of my life. I let go of all regret, anger, bitterness, resentment, blame, comparison, and unhealthy thought patterns. I release the belief that my better days are behind me. I surrender the expectations that were never mine to carry and the versions of myself that were built to endure instead of fully live and thrive. I trust You, Jesus, that nothing in my life has been wasted, that every season has prepared me for what’s ahead for 2026 and beyond and that is an abundance of love, peace, longevity, joy, riches, honor and blessings.

As I move forward, I don’t shrink back or settle. I step ahead with confidence, knowing YOU are not finished with me yet. Fill me with peace, clarity, wisdom and a bold faith to embrace this NEW season with joy, excitement and purpose. I choose to believe that my best days are ahead of me because I walk hand in hand with YOU.

I place what is ending and what is beginning fully in Your hands. Lead me forward… strong, faithful, confident, and with joyful expectancy.

Carol’s Total Wellness Tip!!

Can you believe it is December 30th??? We have one more day to set our intentions for 2026!! Remember that 2025 was about “shedding” and removing what is no longer serving you (write it down on paper and burn it safely by tomorrow night all those negative thoughts and feelings) and then write down all your positive intentions that you want to attract and bring forward for 2026 and place that paper where you can see it daily or in your bible). This is the year of the fire horse! This symbolizes passion, freedom, bold changes, and personal reinvention. It is time to step out of your comfort zone and live your life with meaning and purpose while honoring your temple. 🎉

As many of you know, I love God and our angels and one of the practices that I do every year is the Daniel Fast. (See below for the diet and I highly encourage 30 mins of daily exercise and devotion.) It is for 21 days starting on January 1st. Why? Because for me, it “resets” my body (physical) mind (mental) and spirit (God/Source) connection.

What is the Daniel Fast:

It is a faith-based way of eating inspired by the Bible, specifically Daniel 1:8–16 and Daniel 10:2–3. It’s often practiced for spiritual focus, prayer, and discipline, while also offering physical health benefits.

What you can eat
• Vegetables (all kinds)
• Fruits
• Whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, oats, barley)
• Legumes (beans, lentils, peas)
• Nuts and seeds
• Healthy oils (olive oil)
• Water (primary beverage)

What you avoid
• Meat, poultry, fish
• Dairy products
• Eggs
• Added sugar or sweeteners
• Leavened bread and refined grains
• Processed foods
• Fried foods
• Alcohol
• Coffee and caffeine (some variations allow herbal tea) Please limit caffeine so you do not experience a detox!

Purpose of the Daniel Fast
• Spiritual clarity and prayer
• Self-discipline
• Drawing closer to God
• Health reset (many experience improved energy, digestion, and mental clarity)
