“Your niche is often the person that you were 3-5 years ago.” As a business owner who has a heart for so many different facets of health, this statement really helped put that into perspective and told me WHY I have a problem ‘narrowing down’ my niche.

Who was I 3-5 years ago? It was 6 years ago that I really started my journey to a healthy lifestyle and 5 years ago that my world imploded.

So Five years ago: I was a wife. Nurse. Dog Mom. Starting to feel her way into this new “healthy” lifestyle. I didn’t know much about essential oils, or diets, or toxins in the environment. Let alone the toxic abusive relationship that I was in. I didn’t know that relationships effect my physical health too.

Three years ago: I was just starting to find the courage to look at the pieces of my imploded world. I was still newly/rawly divorced. I was a proud Aunt. Nurse. Dog Mom. A lover of essential oils. A believer of “food is medicine”, someone who knew a lot about toxins in the environment, but was still learning about how relationships and how to heal from that trauma.

Today: I am still a proud Aunt.. Dog Mom. I’m an essential oil guru, a believer of a clean environment (both physically and mentally). I’m a board certified, holistic, health and wellness nurse coach. An entrepreneur. I’m trauma informed. I’m addicted to healthy whole foods and I guard my relationships like the hope diamond.

Who is my niche? I’m here for the answer seekers. The health curious. I’m here for the wives, the divorced, the single. Those that know what they are doing isn’t working, yet are confused by the information that is out there. I’m here for those that are asking questions and need encouragement, guidance, or a motivator to reach their goals. I’m here for you!

Valor is an amazing multipurpose oil, and I love that it comes in a roller bottle!

Roll it on your feet (under your toes) for more ZZZZzzzzz.

Roll it over your heart for more courage, calm, or grounding 🧘‍♀️.

Roll it on your jaw if you hold it too tight when you're overwhelmed, especially before bed!

Protip: this one will stain your clothes blue, so be sure to rub it in well.

How do you use Valor?

Don't get discouraged!

Yesterday, I needed out! Out of the house, out of my head. I needed vitamin D and nature bathing. I needed to move my body.

So, I left a very full plate and headed for the hills.

Everything started off fine. DSmithPack was on their best behavior, and everyone noticed! We received so.many.complements!

Then the trail narrowed. Things got hard to manage side by side, so I decided to work on a new skill. Making them line up behind me when the trail gets tight. I became frustrated! They wanted so badly to be where they were taught to be, where they were comfortable being, that the new skill seemed impossible to learn.

Then someone noticed us. The struggle and the achievement' The fact that at 9 years old, I still stretch their minds. I forced us all out of our comfort zones to learn something that would benefit us.

Was it fun? Not really. Did they do it. Yes! They did so well for their first time out. And I had to remember not to expect perfection on the first go.

When you start toward a new health goal, give yourself grace to learn, to be messy, and embrace the difficult. You can achieve your goals in the end!

As you strive for your goals, remember those behind you who are looking at you. They want to be where you are! They are striving to achieve what you already have! Take a minute and appreciate everything you have already accomplished. Then dig in for the next climb!

I get it. Putting time into your own health is a huge commitment! Digging through the junk and cleaning up what you’d rather sweep under the rug is HARD WORK! It’s messy work. It feels worse before it feels better and it is takes a huge mental load to push through that ick! I get it. I’ve been there. Many days I’m still there as I continue to clean up my health and work on new ways to find physical and emotional peace. You don’t have to do it alone. There are many health care providers who would love to partner with you. I’d love to partner with you! Comment “Committed” below if you have health goals you’re working on. Comment "Partner" below if you have health goals you want help on, or send me a private message. Send this to a friend who you think I could help! I’m here to walk beside you through the hard work! I bet you didn’t know that “A Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure” was originally said by Benjamin Franklin in 1736.

Doing the unseen work BEFORE there is a problem is worth more than doing the bandaid work AFTER the problem has done the damage. I wish someone would have told me how important the framework was to health. I wish I had been given the tools when I was younger, instead of now trying to reverse the damage.

Tell me one thing you wish you would have been taught to prevent. Mine is in the comments 👇🏻👇🏻

I did a thing today!

I passed my Holistic Nurse Certification Exam!

What does that mean for you? Not much is new, except now my clients are coached by a board certified holistic nurse instead of a nurse with holistic training.

What does that mean for me? I get 4 new letters behind my name and can prove that I'm legit and the things I share aren't made up bologna. 😆

How can I help you reach your health goals this year?

As a nurse coach, I help you create your own S.M.A.R.T. goals.
This is a goal of your chosing and with action steps of your own creation. I'm here to help you lean into your own knowledge, and I will educate and encourage you as appropriate.

Specific
Measurable
Action Steps
Realistic
Timeframe

Using this method, your goal might look something like mine or might be something completely different. Whatever area of your health you'd like some guidance in, I can help!

This year, I'm setting SMART goals instead of resolutions!

When past trauma rears its ugly head and you feel scared and triggered, please remember that you're safe now.

It's ok. You're still healing. You know what to do. You can take some space for yourself and heal a little more. Take the time you need.

Don't bottle up your emotions. You have friends and a health coach that are willing to listen, to hold the weight of the world off your shoulders while you find your strength again.

Praying one day these feelings will be only memories, but for now...
