Did you know that recovery doesn’t stop when you leave the table? There are things you can do in between sessions to help get your body ready for you next visit. Here are some things you can do to make the most of your massage therapy sessions:

💪 Stretch. Ask Al for some stretches you can do to stay flexible and limber.

💪 Move. Everyone’s level of motion is different. Find a level that works for you, but continue to put your body in motion throughout the week!

💪 Posture. Your posture is the one thing you can do to help with soreness in your body. Your posture affects your muscles and joints from top to bottom. Staying long and tall helps keep your body aligned, even when sitting at a desk.

💪 Breathe. Reduce stress by taking time to take conscious breathing breaks throughout your day. Be present in the moment. Mental Health impacts physical health.

🍒Tart Cherry Juice is high in anthocyanins which are powerful anti-inflammatory agents
🍉 Watermelon is high in L-citrulline which helps boost nitric oxide which enhances blood circulation in muscles
🐟Fatty Fish like salmon and trout are high in protein, which helps regenerate muscle cells for recovery
🥛Milk is also high in protein and makes an excellent post workout drink to help regenerate muscle

It’s Men’s Health Month, and at Kneaded Recovery we know that the fellas aren’t always great at self-care. A visit to see Al for massage therapy is just one step in total health care for men. Here are 5 things you can do TODAY to start being a better self-advocate for your health:
1. Schedule an appointment with your primary care physician for a physical.
2. In line with that, schedule screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, colon health, diabetes and HIV.
3. Make a commitment to small changes like healthier eating, more exercise, and stopping smoking.
4. Start paying attention to your mental health and schedule an appointment with a therapist.
5. Reach out to another male in your life and check on his health. Hold each other accountable!
