SOCKTOBER is back! 🧦

We will be doing Socktober again this year, a donation drive to benefit Birthright Lake County. Socks and underwear are typically the most needed, yet least donated item for the homeless and those in need.

We will be collecting new socks and underwear through Fri 10/31. Each donation enters you into a raffle for a 60min massage! 🎟️ (Feel free to stop in the office to drop off, no need for an appointment.)

We are accepting men’s, women’s, kids, and babies socks and underwear. Must be new in the package.

Today on National Concussion Awareness Day, the 3rd Friday in September, we stand together with other healthcare workers, teachers, coaches, and parents to raise awareness about the importance of recognizing a concussion, treating it appropriately, and supporting the injured.

Today is National CBD Day!

What is CBD?
- CBD is short for cannabidiol, an active compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD will not get you high, but legally, CBD may have up to 0.3% of THC, which is the part of the plant that gets you high. CBD products are largely unregulated in the US Market, and it’s recommended to avoid buying CBD products from non-health professionals. Studies have suggested that CBD has pain-relieving and
anti-inflammatoriy properties. Some people have reported arthritis pain relief, sleep improvement, and anxiety reduction.

What type of CBD should I use?
- Topical? By mouth? Ask Dr. Tom!
Topical:
- Applied directly to the skin over a painful joint.
- Can also include OTC ingredients such as menthol or camphor.
- It is unknown if the products deliver the CBD below the skin level

By Mouth:
-Tincture is absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
-Possible unpleasant taste.
-Effects can be felt as soon as 15-45 min

Our Athletic Trainer, Jessie, recently spent the weekend at Pinehurst on a golf trip and brought two of our products Booze Bandages and Goodberry CBD tincture with her. Here’s what she had to say about how these two products kept her going through a long weekend of golf:

“Even though I’m an avid golfer, playing 18 holes three days in a row in the North Carolina heat, I knew I would need an extra boost. Having Booze Bandages to help prevent hangovers was exactly what I needed to be able to enjoy some cocktails on the course knowing I would be able to function the next day.
