At STERIS, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s part of who we are. While workplace safety has always been fundamental to what we do, our second President and CEO, Les Vinney, is credited with making it an intrinsic focus of our culture and his legacy.

Les believed that all accidents are avoidable—and that belief sparked a company-wide consciousness around safety that continues to this day. His legacy lives on through the Les C. Vinney Pinnacle Award for Safety Excellence, which honors teams across STERIS who demonstrate world-class safety performance.

This year, over 140 STERIS teams received the award by proactively preventing recordable workplace incidents. This award supports our commitment and recognition process to operational and service teams that demonstrate continuous improvement to achieve world-class safety performance.

Meet Boyd, APAC Area Sales Manager in our Healthcare segment. He joined STERIS 19 years ago and says his favorite part of working here is the open dialogue that is encouraged and supported throughout the company. “STERIS truly lives by the saying, ‘Do the right thing—regardless of who suggests it.’ We are encouraged to speak freely, and this environment is one of STERIS’s most defining strengths,” Boyd shared.

As an Area Sales Manager, no two days are ever the same for Boyd. “We strategize on projects, analyze competitors’ latest tactics, collaborate with distributors and attend conferences where I keep my finger firmly on the pulse of emerging infection control trends.” He always remembers to actively listen, negotiate strategically, and to be empathetic in his interactions.

Boyd says he is passionate about being able to make an impact in the healthcare industry. Read more below.

STERIS just welcomed its second-ever cohort of Supply Chain Leadership Development Associates (LDAs). The LDA program is a rotational experience designed to give recent college graduates hands-on exposure to different areas of our supply chain and operations. Associates like Helal spend time in multiple locations and functions, leading projects, building leadership skills, and discovering where they can make the biggest impact.

Helal, a 2024 Purdue University graduate, completed his first rotation in St. Louis, Missouri. He recently started his second rotation at our Indianapolis, Indiana distribution warehouse.

Follow Helal as he navigates a typical day that brings new challenges, learning opportunities, and the chance to make a real difference in how we serve our Customers.

Meet Jaqueline, Customer Care Associate Manager in our Latin America region. She joined STERIS nearly 10 years ago as part of the Operations team. Today, she manages the Customer Care team in Brazil and supports the development and enhancement of STERIS systems.

“A typical day for me involves a lot of communication, analysis, and decision-making. I stay connected to the bigger purpose that is behind everything we do. It’s a dynamic routine where each day brings a new challenge—and that’s what keeps me going,” she shared.

Jaqueline says she’s most proud of the journey she’s built over the years here at STERIS. “I’ve grown through different areas, always learning and making meaningful contributions every step of the way. Seeing people and processes evolve through shared efforts is one of the most fulfilling parts of my role. I feel deeply connected to the company, the people I work with, what I do, and the purpose behind it.”

In Jaqueline’s free time, she enjoys reading, writing, cooking and spending time with the people (and pets) she loves. “Whether it’s a quiet evening with a good book or a walk with my dogs, Snoopy, Charlie, and Lola, I value simple moments that bring peace and connection.”

Meet Nataly, Healthcare Field Sales Training Associate Manager in our Latin America region. She joined STERIS seven years ago and says she’s proud of the teamwork and continuous improvement culture that defines our organization.

Nataly’s role as a Field Sales Training Associate Manager involves a lot of detailed planning, including regulatory compliance. Discipline, organization, and attention to detail are all skills Nataly leverages in her role.

“I speak four languages and use three of them constantly. Throughout the day, I stay in close communication with various teams to ensure smooth operations. There’s always room to solve challenges, learn something new, and collaborate to deliver results. Values like empathy and clear communication are essential.”
