Laundry day! Some of the BEST language moments happen during everyday routines. Let's look at some ways you could work on language skills while making it fun:

Have your child help you delivery laundry to each room and instead of just doing the task, model simple phrases:

“In!”
“Push it!”
“Go go go!”
“Heavy!”
“Where does it go?”

Keep it playful and exaggerated.

Tips:
For younger toddlers, focus on single words.
For older toddlers, use 2–3 word phrases.
Give simple directions (“Put the socks in Daddy’s room.”)
For preschoolers, add problem-solving (“Uh oh! It’s stuck!”)

And early support is never a bad idea.

By 12 months, babies are learning that communication is powerful. If gestures, name response, or sound play are limited, it doesn’t mean something is wrong, but it may mean your child could benefit from extra support.

The earlier we intervene, the easier it is to build strong communication foundations.

It's a "critter clinic" that comes with animals and doctor tools, but it's SO MUCH MORE for us! This is one of our favorite therapy toys. We love hiding little surprises (that usually have speech or language targets) inside the doors for our clients to find. And our clients of all ages love unlocking the doors to find the surprises!

Also a great way to work on requesting "help"!
