After a 200 pound weight loss, this patient was left with excess skin over his torso and chest. Dr. Greer performed a circumferential body lift with fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty and skin excision on the chest. With nearly 9.5 linear feet of incisions, this was a big operation! But three months after surgery he is healing beautifully and has a dramatic result.

You can absolutely have an abdominoplasty if you’ve already had a panniculectomy, and it won’t affect your results.

Why do we have activity restrictions after surgery?
Some activities can put stress directly on the surgical site- like trying to do planks after having an abdominoplasty. But even when the surgical site isn't directly affected, increased activity causes increased swelling, which slows down healing. It can also cause bleeding, which for some operations (e.g. breast augmentation) means we need to go back to the operating room to stop the bleeding.

This lovely patient had an abdominoplasty to remove loose skin over the abdomen. Abdominoplasty surgery also includes tightening the re**us abdominus muscles to bring them back together in the midline when they've become stretched out by pregnancy or weight gain. Most patients take about two weeks off work or school, and return to full activity is four weeks.

Plastic surgery training is a six year residency. The only longer residency program is neurosurgery, which is 7 years. Other surgical specialties such as orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology and general surgery are five years long. Keep in mind, this is AFTER four years of college and four years of medical school. So your surgeon likely didn't completely their training until age 30 or even later.

I’m looking for an assist to work with me in the OR- could be a CST, first assist, RNFA, RN or PA with OR experience. You’ll be retracting, but not suturing. You’ll also be expected to help set up and turnover between cases, position and prep the patient.
- Mondays and Fridays
- in Mentor
- I’m actually nice in the OR 😉
- pay in the mid $30s/hour depending on training and experience
