Precisely the reason I don’t drink alcohol. One simply “passes out”, but doesn’t actually enter deep, restorative sleep. Always feel horrible the next day. So not worth it. Plus alcohol is a neurotoxin that poisons your brain.

Alcohol tricks your body into falling asleep, but you’re not really sleeping: your body is working to detoxify the alcohol.

Instead of drinking alcohol before bed, try magnesium glycinate in warm water or kombucha tea.
