Mark Your Calendar: Merced County Courthouse Museum will open the “Painting Merced County: Landmarks Immortalized by Artists” exhibit on Thursday, October 10, at 5 p.m. Local artists Carole Kamerer, Jackie Anderson, John Harrell, Judith Burton, Linda Abbott, Penny Waha, Rose Tripp, Susan Regert, Tonia Hemme, Wendy Bright, Karen McComb, Eileen Partlow, Ethel Nelson, Sandy Price, Cheryl Lockett, Karen LeCocq, Dob Francise, and Jacob Charles are taking a new look at our historic buildings, monuments, and sites. At the opening, local performer/artist Art Barajas will present live entertainment at the Courthouse Museum steps at 5:30 p.m. For more information about the exhibit, please contact the Museum office at (209) 723-2401.

This fundraiser event will benefit Cheryl A Lockett Music and Visual Art Studios. It will help fund student recitals and technology upgrades. Please note a portion of the proceeds from this event will also go the "Accessible Arts Merced and Merced Multicultural Arts Center - the MAC.

Hello everyone! My name is Cheryl Craig-Lockett, I am the daughter of Kenneth and Lila Craig of the Merced Blue Notes. Bobby Hunt, was a keyboard player of the second generation of that band. Prior to the Merced Blue Notes, Bobble played with a group called the Silver tones. There’s much more history and information that I could share with you, but will do at a later time.

At this moment, there are many of you who are wondering about uncle Bobby’s whereabouts. I regret to inform you that the legendary Bobby Hunt has made his transition to the next realm of existence. This happened on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Uncle Bobby was the last member of the Merced Blue Notes. It was the second generation of that band that made the hit records.

The soul and Bobby piano and Hammond B2&3 organ playing was phenomenal. He was also partial to bass Guitar.

Bobby played with, and a close friend of organist Rhoda Scott, Fleetwood Mac and many other music industry professional bands. He also was keyboard and organist for the band “Head West”. 

Currently, his daughters, Tiffany, and Deon are processing his affairs.

Please note that while in the hospital recovering from heart and kidney failure, his mobile phone was lost. Efforts are being made in attempt to recover his contacts from that phone. Therefore, many individuals were not notified of this situation.
