Momentum is building to improve Medicare access to home infusion therapy. The National Home Infusion Association recently testified before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health in support of the Preserving Patient Access to Home Infusion Act, bipartisan legislation aimed at fixing gaps in Medicare’s home infusion benefit.

During the hearing, NHIA highlighted how the current benefit design limits access for seniors and people with disabilities, often forcing patients into facilities even when home infusion is clinically appropriate. The proposed legislation would modernize professional services coverage, expand access to IV therapies, and better reflect the full scope of care required to safely deliver infusion therapy in the home.
