Kim is a BNR member & Clinical Practice Lead on the Stroke unit at PPMC with 16 years nursing experience. She specializes in Neuro Critical care and Neuro Trauma populations🧠. She also believes in preparing the next generation of nurses through mentorship and education, serving as Clinical Adjunct for multiple nursing programs.

Governor Sherrill signed an amendment into law yesterday, allowing certain New Jersey nurse practitioners to practice independently! This is a significant step forward both for the profession but also for New Jersey patients having greater access to care.

BNR South Jersey’s “Why I Rock”

Shabri Thompson is a registered nurse with over 15 years of experience across long-term care, post-acute care, hospice, and home care settings. She began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and later advanced to Registered Nurse (RN). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Aspen University and is currently enrolled in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program at Thomas Edison State University. Shabri currently serves as a Nurse Consultant with the New Jersey Department of Health in Communicable Disease Services, where she supports public health initiatives, infection prevention, and outbreak response efforts.

Anitra G. is a registered nurse, CMSRN, author, BNR South Jersey member and healthcare entrepreneur with a diverse background spanning clinical practice, business leadership, and education. She holds both a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), blending advanced clinical expertise with strategic business acumen.

Anitra has written multiple books and has been published in a professional magazine, using her voice to educate, inspire, and advocate within healthcare and beyond. With several years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, she is known for her strong clinical judgment, compassionate care, and commitment to evidence-based practice.

In addition to her bedside experience, Anitra has served as a business entrepreneur and legal nurse consultant, supporting clients at the intersection of healthcare and law. She is also actively engaged in life and business coaching, empowering professionals to build purpose-driven careers and sustainable ventures. Currently preparing to pursue her PMHRN, she continues expanding her expertise into psychiatric and mental health nursing while remaining committed to lifelong growth, leadership, and impact.

Meet Naja Mouzon, MSN, FNP-C, DNP(c) chapter member and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner and healthcare leader committed to advancing health equity and improving outcomes in underserved communities. As the Director of Case Management and Community Provider, she leads innovative, community-based care models that address chronic disease management, reduce hospital utilization, and integrate social determinants of health into practice.

Naja is passionate about prevention, patient education, and empowering individuals to take control of their health. Her work extends beyond clinical care into community outreach, wellness initiatives, and mentorship. Currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice, she focuses on bridging gaps in care through sustainable, equity-driven solutions.

A proud advocate for Black health and representation in nursing, Naja continues to inspire through leadership, service, and a commitment to holistic, culturally competent care.
