If you have a strong background in play therapy, Core Attachment Therapy© is a wonderful tool for you to utilize for children who have been adopted or other children who have had their normal attachment development interrupted. This process is a combined adaptation of two very wonderful techniques, The Nurtured Heart Approach® and Developmental Play Therapy . The combination of both techniques were adapted to meet the emotional needs children exhibit who have had their attachment disrupted. Core Attachment Therapy© is very respectful to the child and very empowering to the parents. It allows families of adoption a way to bond at the core level which has proven over and over to move children through their emotional issues and needs to then be comforted by the very people they need-their new parents. When this moment of the adopted child letting their new parents “in” occurs, it is so heartwarming and it does transform the heart of the adopted child. 6 hour Introduction to The Nurtured Heart Approach® is being offered the first Friday of every month (not including the 4th of July). You can also then decide on Level 1 training for Core Attachment Therapy©. Both are virtual and both have CEU's available.
