The estate of Dante J. Molinary and Barbara Jeanne Molinary has made a historic $4.2 million gift—the largest ever received by MidState Medical Center. Because of their kindness, more patients in the greater Meriden community will have enhanced access to compassionate, high-quality cancer care.

This transformative gift will support the expansion of MidState’s Oncology Infusion Suite, creating a more comfortable, healing environment for patients and their families during treatment.

Their legacy will make a lasting difference in the lives of so many.

✨Erika Nedinsky, BSN, RN✨

Erika exemplifies the true spirit of nursing through her compassion, empathy and dedication to her patients in the Family Birthing Center, especially those experiencing perinatal loss and perinatal mood disorder. She is involved in two related systemwide committees, often takes the lead with such patients and organizes educational opportunities for colleagues. She buys remembrance keepsakes, decorated a patient’s room on her birthday and getting sponsors to donate car seats for mothers in need.

✨ Corinne O’Toole, MSN, RN, SANE-A ✨

Corinne established a legacy in trauma-informed and forensic nursing through an unwavering commitment to advancing survivor-centered care on the local, state and national levels. When she realized trauma and assault victims’ clothing is taken as evidence and patients were discharged in exam gowns, she organized clothing donations for local EDs and worked with community partners to secure a steady supply of clothes that are given free. She brings the same compassion to precepting new nurses, creating a safe, structured and encouraging learning environment.

Blizzard Calvin brought snow — but it also brought something beautiful. ❄️

Meet baby Aria, a tiny burst of joy born at MidState Medical Center just as the storm reached its peak. At 6 lbs., 13 oz., she turned a blizzard into the brightest moment of the morning — a sweet reminder that caring never stops, even in the storm. Congratulations to the Perez family!
