"I am writing on behalf of my 89 year old mother, Joan, affectionately known as 'pumpkin spice' from her Rock Steady family. Simply put, Rock Steady Boxing has changed my mom's life. As we well know, exercise has many benefits for individuals with Parkinson's. As a result of her participation, I have observed an increase in strength and flexibility and a slower progression of the disease. Although the physical benefits of participation are important, the social and emotional benefits of participation have been immense. Rock Steady provides mom with a sense of belonging and the emotional and social support in her "fight" to manage the disease. She has formed many friendships and has connected with those who share her experience. As noted previously, being a part of this healthy community has changed her life for the better. Thank you Teresa (RSB Coach) and all of the wonderful volunteers for making a huge difference in so many lives. You're the best!"

Our Rock Steady Boxing class isn’t just boxing. Our instructors incorporate many different physical and mental exercises and activities to challenge their classes. If you know someone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, please get them in touch with our team atBaptist Healthplex - Anderson. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm!

Our Rock Steady members have been working on their eye/hand coordination., balance and footwork during their last two class sessions!! Thanks to our knowledge trainers, Martez and Niley, they have found a way to use racquetball and basketball drill that work on some of the Parkinson’s symptoms!! They learned something new as well as had fun!! You never know what our trainers will come up with next!!
